Anyone else notice the lack of skill possessed by the "ski patrol" in the Olympics?

They're probably paramedics or other medical professionals who have far more medical expertise and training than your typical ski patrol and who were brought in for first aid regardless of their skill on skis.

There's a difference between onsite medical personnel at major sporting events and the ski patrollers at your local hill.

The medical personnel at the Olympics don't need to control slopes, set rope lines, do avy control, or any of the other things that regular ski patrollers do. They don't need to ski well—they just need to get to anyone who's injured and treat them. If anyone's getting taken out on a sled, I'm sure it's being handled by someone who can ski.

Okay that makes much more sense now, but regarding the last bit about getting taken out on a sled. I believe it was Yuto Totsuka's crash in snowboard halfpipe when he was taken out on a sled.. If my memory serves me well, the skier behind the sled, controlling the speed of the sled, looked like they weren't a very good skier at all (they were damn close to catching an edge and busting ass).

Basically what I'm getting at is, what are the requirements (if there even are, regarding ski ability) to be part of the medical personnel for these events, you would think that atleast - especially for the sled - there would be a minimum requirement for ski experience?

I beer fined a ski patroller last year at x games. During big air, she was responding to khai I think? when he knocked himself out. anyway she ate shit and slid into the fence. Lost 1 or both skis. I snapped a pic and called her out on it after. She had fallen earlier two when chatting to the security at the side entrance to get back in.

I was going to get a 6 pack but think I just got a pint out of it.

She was probably a decent skier having a shit day, but it was worth taking a pic and getting free booze.
