Thanks for the essay man! Only one problem with it, just that insulin doesn't help you use the energy, it actually promotes the anabolism and storage of glucose into glycogen and triglycerides. In the long run, though, they get used for energy.

everyone in my family has diabetes. im pretty sure ill get it when im older. type II is not as bad as type I though. jevenille diabetes is hell. especially when you're a kid and have to give yourself a shot everyday. people with type II just check their blood sugar every once in a while, and try not to eat sugary foods.

Ya, type II isn't that bad because you can regulate it and prevent it to a certain extent with low sugar diet and regular exercise (like skiing!).

heh, yeah dude. I love talking about intelligent shit, and I hope you're not being sarcastic. It'd be so much more interesting to see peoples thoughts on shit that matters in our lives and whatnot, rather than just post random crap all the time.
But yeah, I was also thinking more in the direction of antibiotics. I think it was Alexander Flemming that discovered lysozyme, an enzyme occurring in many body fluids, such as tears, that had a natural antibacterial effect... but not against the strongest infectious agents. it's pretty funny actually because I recall that he was in WWI and wanted to invent some sort of chemical that would kill the bacteria that was even more dangeruous than enemy artillery. Anyways... eventually this discovery lead to further reasearch and the discovery of penicillin, which was huge.

nothing i just got home from work a little while ago. im super hungry and i havent skiied in a month because work is a fucker and doesnt give me any time off on weekends. im going to big bear next month though so thats cool. i got the siver ten-4 jacket today, a 4frnt shirt, and the pollard shirt. im excited about that. also, california sucks ass. fucking mexicans. what about you?

someone way back earlier in this thread called insulin an antibiotic. i think you mean penicillin. insulin is a peptide hormone secreted by the islets of the pancreas that regulates the level of sugar in the blood.

I'm not trying to be deep or anything but maybe humanity its self is the greatest invention - at least from our standpoint. You can credit God or evolution or whoever, but from a human's standpoint, shouldn't we feel like our existence is more worth while than any material comforts - which you could not experience otherwise - or drugs that save lives - which otherwise would serve no purpose without our existence.

That would be sick, maybe they'll make snow on the mountains and people will have personal snow makers for urban but everywhere else it will be warm so I don't have to freeze my ass off and I can go to the beach all year round!
