supersquidMarine epoxy works great because it is waterproof. Use that. Also for topsheet chips the epoxy works great but isnt always the most aesthetically pleasing. Some sandpaper makes it look a lot better. You can also take sandpaper and use it on the rest of where the topsheet meets the sidewall (assuming its not cap construction) this helps prevent the nylon topsheets from chipping so bad.
as for the edge cracks its usually a case bycase scenario. It really only works if the edge is coming away from the sidewall or base. If that happens stir up the epoxy and use a flat head to lightly pry the crack open more. Just be careful. Then just apply the epoxy. Playing cards work fine, anything thin will work. Also a hairdryer works great with epoxy. If you mix it together and then immediately use the hair dryer it will get watery. This allows it to seep in farther. When using epoxy you cant really use to much but you can use to little. Use it generously as any extra will simply get squeezed out by the clamp. (I would assume you plan on clamping the ski together and not just throw on some epoxy.
yea i tried to epoxy my last pair of skis and the edge just popped back to where it was. It was a marine epoxy and i cured it for around 18 hours. I would assume that I just didn’t get enough in the hole. Thanks for the hair dryer idea!
