N41v131355None of competitve freeride skis are playful. This is like the opposite things. You have a short 40-50sec ride from top to bottom, where you need to go fast, drop and survive in all snow conditions. There is no playfullness in this formula. Most of competitive freeride skis have little to none tail rocker, are very stiff and burly.

TheWeazWow a lot of hate in this thread.
How competitive are you talking about? Trying to make it to fwt or competing in local comps for fun.
Either way I wouldn’t compete on a symmetric ski but thats just my opinion. Usually a symetric ski is meant to be mounted very close to center which makes skiing fast and aggressive lines harder, not impossible but definitely less easy and considering most freeride comps are judged on agressive lines and controlled skiing a symmetric ski isn’t the best choice.
However sego makes good skis, most of them are a little soft for my tastes but if you like that ski why not consider one of the other ones they make thats not symmetric, theres all kinds of people skiing them around jackson so they can’t be out of place skiing big lines.
Profahoben_212I compete on the sego prospect 112....But I feel like the big horn would be right up your alley! Awesome skis, and stiffer than the very soft tater tot.
Prospect is super playful with the rocker profile...but also very damp. Does pretty well charging.
wpskiYou're stupid
ColingarnesAre you always this annoying in threads?
wpskiYes, are you always posting things that make no sense? Plenty of "competitive" freeride skis are very playful, as an example look at the blizzard rustler, or a ski like the bentchetler. Both are super chargy skis that are also very capable when it comes to playfulness.

TheWeazGonna go ahead and say ignore whatever this kid says, in no way are the bents, especially the new white ones, or the rustlers chargy. In fact the rustlers might have been the worst ski ive ever used in choppy conditions. The older closer to the original bents were fairly chargy, and the gunsmokes that the rustlers replaced were also chargy for a twin tip, but both of the new modes removed a lot of weight from the tips making them far worse in variable snow. BUT the new models ski pow and do tricks better.
wpskiOuch I was just going off what I've read/been told by others
ColingarnesEet me ass
You're stupid.

-SnowSnoli-It depends mainly on snow conditions. If
it’s tracked out to shit you’re not going to have a good time on ‘playful’ pow skis.
In Saying that. If the snows good I compete on k2 catamarans which are super playful. But I’m happy to have the pinnacle 118 for when the snow isn’t prime.
In in the world tour Fabio Studer uses volkl twos. Not exactly the stiffist
Blizzard rustler 112 is a pretty good compromise. There are a lot of skis on the market that would qualify as inbetween playful and chargey.
RudyGarmischKartel 108, or Kartel 108 with a tour layup and extra carbon.
Compared to my Wrens, I am way more likely to fold them and go over the handlebars skiing forward and aggressive, but they absolutely excel in skied through chop and less than foot deep fresh.
Or just sack up and get a Billy Goat or Kartel 116.
Rum_HamI feel like Bibby pro is the obvious answer here
denvertrashIf they make a 108 next year I will but for a dude that's still 5' 7 and lives in Colorado I feel like they're a lil much
Rum_HamI live in Colorado, I'm 5'9" and ride the 184s as does my 5'8" friend. Couldn't be happier.
denvertrashY'all need to chill in this thread...like a) stop commenting shit like eat me ass and b) stop having comment wars if it's not about the gear... It's just skiing
