Trying to find Utah Resorts

My mom and I flew into Utah today (my mom is the best). We planned on going to Alta for both days, but we didnt realize that tickets there are EXPENSIVE unless you plan way in advance. Also, I feel as though Alta is a way overhype resort. Does anyone suggest any other resorts like Brighton or Snowboard? I am here for two days. I was hoping to have a pow-day, but would be willing to hurt myself on some rails at the end of my stay. Basically, I just really need some resort info. Any help is appreciated!

Yeah that's pretty true. Even hills in random places have been expensive forever.
Even 10 + years ago Gore in NY was $75

Update: I managed to score some $90 lift tickets to Alta through my hotel. Would anyone be down to ride tomorrow?

its just accepted now in the states that big name corporate resorts like snowbird will almost certainly cost at least $115/day to ski.

My YA season chair only pass was 449 dollars early season. Plan in advance and its well worth it.

chair-only was the greatest deal on a pass ive ever had last season. didnt get up there a bunch but hammered down in the spring and being able to get free tram laps in may was great.

Yeah this will be the last time you don't order pretickets (I got my snowbird ticket for $60 on liftopia by planning ahead) .... FYI all the ski shops around have discounted lift tickets so if you end up not buying online, at least stop in a shop for a ticket. For example, Snowbird is $90 at shops vs $129 on hill. Always check liftopia just in case.
