The moral abomination of the Olympics and how money and TV put women's snowboarders at risk

It's pretty upsetting that the winds were high enough to shut down the GS race but they still made the female snowboarders compete in slopestyle. It's so irresponsibly damaging to the image of women in extreme sports, since they couldn't put down their bigger tricks.

Seriously! It's crazy to expect individuals to *LAUNCH* themselves out into the winds, but cancal a more profitable, well known sport b/c of the same issues.

I especially thought that making them go ahead with the competition did nothing for womens snowboarding as a whole. If anything it knocked them backwards in progression by at least 3 years. I mean look at the gold medal run. no spin bigger than 720 off the jumps because literally jamie anderson was thrilled to be alive at the bottom. when 20 out of 25 competitors fall.... you may have a problem. if anyone watched that with out knowing anything about the weather impact and then they watched the mens event???? Literally they would have to think women suck at snowboarding. And they dont!!! they just competed in the middle of hurricane winds!! I feel so bad for all of those ladies, I mean how many of the 29 finalists (who only got 2 runs) have ever hit features that big?? Extra sad to see. as a life long Olympic's fan who grew up wanting to be the next tara lipinski.... these girls got shafted hard. congrats to the 5 girls who managed to stay upright.
