Best way to crash if you land a jump sideways?

I know obviously the best option is to twist 90 degrees one way or another to try to get your skis to land straight, but if you end up with your skis landing sideways (perpendicular to the fall line), is it better to have stiff legs to absorb some of the vertical KE or just crumple so your head doesnt get whipped into the snow? I feel like the answer is to just crumple to save your head from getting slingshot into the ground but i wanted to hear from some of you guys.

Get yur edges up and try and slide it. Even if you land straight up 90 and try and finish whatever rotation you were doing whether it brings you to switch or regs.

Jumps usually have a bit of give because the slope of the landing so unless you’re landing to flat or on the knuckle you should be able to wash out to switch or forward, but if you’re going bigger than expected or you’re pitched too far forward or back you probably won’t have too much control of what happens with your body

your best is to try and catch your outside edge on the ski that is facing downhill

what should i do if i try dub but hit my head on the lip of the jump?

Did this today, on ice, on the knuckle of a 50ft jump, full whiplash into the landing, cracked helmet. Am I doing this right?

1. Try to land on your edge
2. wash it out
3. wave your arms
4. do a butter to make it look intentional
5. ??????
