eheathWhile our snowpack is thin, the upper mountains have the most snow for sure, we've had a few storms where it rained at 7-8k feet, so dont worry about anything up high. Brighton has tons of terrain, but check out solitude, snowbird and alta as well.
mmccarthy81Thanks, we'll be skiing over the weekend so do you know which of the ones you named may attract less crowds?
mmccarthy81I am going to check out University of Utah and do three days of skiing in the area from February 15-19 and am wondering if some mountains are doing better than others with the weak conditions over there. I'll be with my dad and brother, and while I'd prefer to go to Brighton so that I could lap the park a bit and night ski a bit, they both are only concerned with the upper mountain stuff. Any information on the skiing there right now would be super helpful so that we can decide where to buy lift tickets. Also, I was wondering how the upper mountain skiing at Brighton is and if they have a solid amount of steep, technical terrain? Thanks, any info on the skiing there is much appreciated
Park_RangerYou should go to Park City. That's where Tom Wallisch and a lot of the Vishnu guys ride... idk I've seen a lot of dope edits. Plus they have #irideparkcity

mmccarthy81Sweet dude, lmk if you end up enrolling
NewWaveYou a senior or junior?
mmccarthy81Senior, you?
NewWaveJunior
mmccarthy81Ahh, good to look early, I wish I already saw Utah
VESACE_flameI got in early admission to Utah. Are you thinking about going
mmccarthy81Yeah it’s between there and Colorado State. After this visit I’ll make my mind up.
VESACE_flameTrue I’ toured Colorado state last year it was sort of far from skiing
PowsideI'm heading out to PC this weekend. Has anyone been there lately? I'm kinda worried about the snow conditions.
mmccarthy81Ok so I am now leaving tomorrow and was wondering if anyone thinks it is worth bringing my powder skis as well as my Blends for Alta/Snowbird and Brighton? Doesn’t look like there are any storms coming through but maybe someone knows something I don’t. So do I bring the 114s or chill on Blends Thursday through Monday?
jblaskiWednesday night into Thursday a little storm is rolling through. The high end of forecasts puts the Cottonwoods at 10", but likely slightly less than that. So I guess it's up to you if you want to ski your park skis.
As for answering the OP, Brighton doesn't really have upper/lower mountain. The best steep skiing will be off Great Western chair, Reins and Clarks. Off of Snake Creek lift, the Hardcoin and Sawbuck will provide some steep tree skiing as well as an easy traverse into Snake Bowl. Unfortunately, most of Milly Bowl of the Millicent chair is still closed due to low snow/rocks. But MAYBE some terrain could open if the storm pans out. Have fun!
GarrettHanleylemme know how it is, im heading to snowbird the 22-26. hopefully they get some snow
NewWaveI am on my last day tomorrow of being here in Utah, Snowbasin is icy and has gotten no snow this last week. Deer valley was crowded, but it got about 3 inches. Powder mountain was ok, and solitude today was great. I wouldn’t bring the pow skis, only bring them if you aren’t paying an extra bag fee.
