Replying to Are Candide 3's too light?

I'm looking for a new one ski quiver for the PNW. I had 191 Atomic Access that I loved, but want to go shorter and wider. The Candide 3.0 and Armada ARV 108 look good on paper, but I've read some reviews that the ARV doesn't float well, and the Candide is bad on hardpack. Theres usually soft snow to be found, but there are some days where its frozen crud. Anyone skied the candides and can comment on their stability in firmer conditions?
