So I had acl/Mcl and and minuscus surgery in 2016. I didn’t listen to my doctors at all when it came to being able to walk and ride again, I did sooner than I was supposed to. I did do therapy not as much as I was supposed to but enough to gain decent strength and full about full range of motion before I started riding. I notice my knee still Aches tho after hitting a lot of jumps and stuff all day. I was wondering if you guys experience similar problems a year or two after still.
6 weeks post-op right now. Full ACL tear and pretty bad Meniscus damage. Honestly probably a pretty good thing I won’t be able to ski (unless I pop up to Hood) when I’m 100% again or I’d probably be in the same boat with rushing it. Nonetheless, still interested in responses to this thread.

I had a completely torn ACL with 2 small tears on my meniscus along with slight MCL damage. This will be my second year back and I really only notice knee pain when landing jumps poorly, such as when back seat or if my leg is close to locked. That said, I don't ski as hard as I used to before my surgery. Since the end of my rehab I have been going to the gym very often as well as biking during the summers.
If I were you OP, I would start getting your stuff together on the therapy and rehab. Get your knee strong and your flexibility back in your leg. Your muscles provide loads of support to your knee.
Stronger muscles = less chance of injury = better skiing
I’ve been going on bike ride about two times a week my legs are strong again I’m squatting heavy weights too it’s not like I’m super week. I just still experience knee pain you know it could be my landings tho
2 years after ACL sugery with complete recovery and rehab (about 6 months without skiing, did the surgery in the middle of summer) I still get some knee pain in 2 cases mostly:
- after a day of hard skiing
- if i'm sitting stationary at work and don't move my leg for several hours
Just kinda got used to the pain, it's not severe or something, but after those 2 years my knee reminds me that I had surgery at some points.
