DeebieSkeebiesI was considering working up in Washington at a yacht resort in Roche Harbor. You should look it up. They also network with most Alterra company resorts which means you'll be able to get first-dibs on badass ski resort jobs at really cool mountains.
50KalWorking a yacht club pnw sounds dope.
DaphOne of my old co-workers got a gig with a company that puts up those super fancy glamping yurts. Basically he goes to a national park, puts the yurt up then chills all week and is basically on call in case the people who reserved the yurt have any issues, gets a free parks pass and climbs and hikes all week then once the people leave he takes the yurt down and goes to the next park they're reserved at. Sounds like a pretty chill gig if you want to work in a national park but not deal with all the federal govt bs
A.WalkerCommercial fisher. Come to Alaska you will not regret

robbinJAHoodWhat’s a yacht resort? That sounds pretty cool
robbinJAHoodI’ve been thinking about trying to work and stay at Alyeska. They post their summer jobs at the end of March. My moms best friend lives near Girdwood but lives in a tiny house so I can’t stay with her so I need some sort of housing connection
A.WalkerWorked at alyeska last winter, they have employee housing for a semi-reasonable price and some kind of system where rent is deducted from your checks or something like that. Girdwood is definitely a gem of a town
robbinJAHoodThanks for this feedback!! I’m definitely looking into it. Would you recommend employee housing or just getting a place in Girdwood? How reliable is the bus system lol
.lenconI’m a wildland firefighter.
make good money, learn and see cool things, stay in shape, and possibly travel.
hard work but super fun.
if that doesn’t tickle your fancy go work at hood with everyone and their moms dog
