MinggJoin Schussmeisters to get a college pass at KB, Holiday Valley and Peek (Buffalo Ski Club(resort) and Swain also included) for a stupidly low price and free transportation most days. Lots of weekend trips to VT/NH and an annual West trip. UB is a rather large school, anything you can do to actually feel involved, the better. Schuss made my college experience TBH.

peek n peak is the only resort worth going to and its probably an hour and 45 minute drive, and it still isnt much.
i really have nothing good to say about western new york. It really fuckin sucks.
jlens05Ok,as a Buffalonian I feel like I have to defend Buffalo. Buffalo is indeed a shithole, and I'm allowed to say that cause I'm a Buffalonian. But..... Buffalo is also kinda dope. Just about the best food in the world, the skiing is actually pretty close, Holiday really isn't that bad (parks do suck tho, but seem to be on the up and up), people in Buffalo are pretty great and super nice, there's plenty of obese people everywhere to boost your self confidence, you can be out of the city and in the absolute middle of nowhere within 30 min, there's no traffic, we have Niagra falls, close to Canada and Toronto (drinking age is 19 which is cool for us younger guys). If you like the snow, well there's plenty of that, and lake Erie is kinda cool too. The thing about Buffalo is that you don't realize the positives until you leave. Oh yeah and you can be an alcoholic in Buffalo and nobody will care as long as you're a relatively functioning alcoholic.
Chubz.I guess within the last 5 years it’s gotten better but I’ve always looked at bflo as a grimy city. I don’t feel comfortable when I’m there, there’s a shit ton of crime. And idk I really don’t like HV as a mountain. That’s just my opinion. OP, if you ski park, buy a peek n peak pass. Don’t waste your time at HV. There’s more of a scene there but the parks down here are a lot more fun and flowy.

Twinjibber77I grew up in the boonies, south of Rochester (loved Rochester), but always thought Buffalo was a shit hole. Went to college in Niagara Falls for four years (literal shit hole with the exception of our campus), and Buffalo truly took off. I went back last spring for my wedding and it was so awesome I was in shock. I always had fun there, but it's just on the come up so much right now. People that shit on it probably haven't been to the right places or really got out to check out different things. I'm most definitely moving back there and finally happy with that decision.
Oh, and get your concealed carry permit and move off campus.
