Meh. What you're saying is "It's cool if you ski, just don't be a real person" I want to see nothing more than skiing, and some fake smiles and happy interviews. Fuck that honestly.
I do dislike the pull for views in the media. I remember my mom watching America's got talent, and the story was always more about how some girls dog she rescued from Antarctica got hit by a bus and it made her sad but she found a love for singing or something than actual singing. They wanted to make a story out of anything and everything. Some of them you could see there was a story, some you could see they were just sending anything to make it emotional.
That said, people actually follow skiers. Even though we see them just skiing, they're still real people. In a world where everything is scripted social media presence it's good for people to see that these are still humans.
Also people love understanding more about a person in sports.
