I was checking Twitter after it was announced that Nick, Cassie and Gus got through and this was one of the first things that came up....Tbh I think she is disgusting and pity her kids. Just shows you how much of an impact Gus will have on the world stage as an out Olympic athlete. Hopefully it may change some minds and show up people like this. Read bottom to top.

Iggyskier brought to my attention that this account is a Russian Bot!! I checked it before I posted the screenshot but it was private and nothing seemed out of the ordinary. Now it is open and you can see that the only messages sent are those sent to Gus. Knowing that it is a Russian bot, I can now see the grammar irregularities too. This is kinda scary. We should look out for hate on Twitter towards Gus over the Olympics and see where it's coming from and alert Twitter.

iggyskierFor clarity, it really isn't about their stance on the LGBTQ, though obviously they have culture issues there. They don't give a shit about that in this case. It is literally about stirring the left vs right pot right now. This is the same shit they've been doing for the past 3+ years now - so honestly, sort of fascinating to see it involve Gus and be so close to the skiing community (as this is the same stuff happening across our whole political spectrum right now).
That is completely true as well. A lot of idiots out there. That is sort of the point though. Bot speaks up, validates the feelings a lot of Americans have, so they speak up, and suddenly both sides are yelling. In this case, it is literally a Russian bot stirring the political pot over people's opinions on LGBTQ rights.
This thread and people thinking this is a real person shows how well this is working, as this is happening on every issue dividing the country right now. When all is said and done Russia meddling in our politics & elections will likely have been one of the most successful intelligence operation in all of our lifetimes. It might sound crazy to say, but that is literally what you are seeing here, just on a micro scale. They are doing some pretty serious damage to the country, so hopefully people start to wake up soon.

Well for a start, Russia are banned from the Winter Olympics because of the doping scandal. A government sponsored doping scheme that occurred for more than 20 years.
What better way than to cause havoc and take the heat off them than by going after the first openly gay US athlete to ever compete in an Olympic Games.

Note I don't mention anything on Trump here. There is no question that Russia is using propaganda thru social media in Western countries and I'm just going to assume we are all literate enough and intelligent enough to not pretend there is any debate there.
So the question is - why are state sponsored trolls attacking a homosexual US Olympian in a fringe sport? Umm...It makes plenty of sense. Their goal is to cause chaos and divisions in American society. We all know homosexuality is one of the most divisive topics in America. ITS JUST SKIING. The dude shreds he is literally the goat of freestyle skiing. Gus is one of the best skiers on the field, that is undeniable, so why does it matter what his beliefs off the snow are. Props to him for standing up for what he believes in, takes a lot of balls.
