The individual college threads are dying pretty quickly, so I'm making a general one.

ethanphallI'm from California and trying to decide between U of U, UBC, and Boulder. Leaning towards Boulder.
The.FishLive in Cleveland Ohio, applied to Ohio state, Purdue, and Dayton for Mechanical Engineeringand got into all 3. I hated Dayton when I toured it. I was very impressed with Purdue but there is no chance I ski there and I need to keep myself sane. I tour Ohio state in a few weeks, both of my parents went there and my dad wants me to go there.
Dash69Can't really decide between UBC and U of U
Henry.VI have yet to hear from UBC. When do we get admissions decisions...
Regardless, debating between Madison or splashing the cash for an Ivy
abaxterStill waiting on bunch of colleges but got in nova and case western reserve in Cleveland with great scholarship. Both pretty far from skiing so rip skiing career.
The.FishI toured case and didn’t like it very much. Very boring. Basically a place for research. There is some tiny skiing at bmbw, its a 250 ft vertical drop lol
abaxterAgreed it’s not super exciting but at least it’s in city. Just a very good school plus I got 25k a year so if I go there that’s basically the only reason why.
The.Fishwhat is your major?
JannyDensonAnyone apply to University of Utah
abaxterThinking chemical engineering

sendotologistHave 2 degrees from Boulder and started my undergrad at UBC before getting deported. Both solid schools and big ski culture for students.
Since you're here I'm sure skiing is a priority for you in terms of school choice. I'd take Colorado skiing any day of the week for snow quality but Vancouver is for sure a more interesting place to live. Hope you're loaded either way, especially if you choose Vancouver.

RdikkenWhy’d you get deported
sendotologistLong story, but had a bunch of criminal issues stemming from an incident back in the States. It was almost entirely unfounded and charges got dropped/reduced, but in the mean time I had some serious shit hanging over me for a couple of years. Canada let me stay for a year and a half making border crossings in BC for court without an issue because my visa was for university in Vancouver. All it took was trying to fly to Nova Scotia to see my S/O and they pulled up my record and told me to GTFO.
This was a long time ago and I'm probably allowed back now. Border agent basically told me to figure my shit out before coming back or else I'd be turned away, so I transferred to CU-Boulder. I'll always miss British Columbia, UBC, and the life I had to abandon there, but Colorado ended up working out really well for me anyway.
whiteboiI only applied to Montana State University and got in via early app back in August. That's where I'm heading, just waiting to hear back on WUE and a few other scholarships. If anyone else who's reading this is going there next year then hmu
bread_birdBoulder's nice. Lots of things to do here and it's very close to Eldora. You can also get to A Basin, Breck, etc. if you are willing to sit through a few traffic jams.
What's your major? I know that CU has a great engineering program, if you were planning on that.
ethanphallI’m going into the technology arts and media major in the college of engineering. I got accepted and got a pretty big scholarship, so chances are I’ll end up going there.
bread_birdHaha same here, just got into CU and the TAM program. Probably not going to end up there, depends on whether I get accepted to some other schools.
ethanphallWhat other schools are you waiting for?

RyhanDoing me the learns at Montana State this fall.
ThatSkiierKidd64Im heading there next fall, waiting on the WUE too, already got a few other scholarships though. Super sick campus and town plus Bridger bowl skiing is amazing.
ZypherSee all y’all at Montana haha. Submitted my WUE app back in September and got the scholarship before the new year. Still haven’t heard about any academic scholarships tho.
What are y’all studying? Got into the business/finance program and am gonna dabble in entrepreneurship.
tfshSame doood. Got into their Honors business program. What scholarship did you apply to? Only one I saw was presidential?

ZypherSweet! I applied to the WUE and did the Non-Resident Freshman Distinction app. I thought that by applying you were automatically considered for academic scholarship but I guess I didn't get one (or they havent sent them out yet) so I just went for the Distinction app. I also didn't do a FAFSA app but you could do that if you're looking for some more money.
galaxyhuckerwaiting to hear from Dartmouth lol but its between CU which is close to home and I have friends there or Lewis and Clark in Portland which would be nice to have a different experience.
asap.maxAnyone headed to MSU this fall need a roomie? I'm hoping for Roskie or Yellowstone with North Hedges as a back-up. PM me if you're interested.
cozzeyI checked out Lewis and Clark and am from Denver... Im heading out to Washington this fall and look forward to the change. Lewis and Clark was a bit funky in my opinion though but Portland is sweet.
galaxyhuckerNice! Im from the springs and thats one of my big draws to the PNW. I mean I love Colorado but it would be nice to just live somewhere different for a lil. Where are you going in Washington? I looked at Puget Sound and UW when I visited and Washington is pretty nice as well
bread_birdJust submitted my last college app. Still have to do scholarship apps, which I didn't think would be so much work. Anyone know when the CU one is supposed to be done by?
