Howdy guys,
DISCLAIMER: I work in a shop and am comfortable mounting via paper jig. I have all the necessary equipment, except a Salomon jig.
I had a buddy ask me to mount up their Guardians for them, and I'm just hittin' up GT to get some clarification on the mount point. The Guardians have two sizes, Small and Large, so I figured that each would have a fixed, corresponding line to mount to as you adjust the heel placement on the rails, the mount holes don't move according to sole length. On the paper template, just like a fixed binding, there are lines corresponding to sole length; which of these lines am I mounting to at any given sole length? To move the two components of paper jig itself would be moving the placement of the rear plate, which engages and disengages the touring function of the binding and needs to be exact. Adjustable touring bindings have me baffled.
I just need a little guidance on this one. If anyone has any experience or information, let me know. I've attached two screenshots of the jig template to visually explain the idea I am trying to get across.
Cheers guys!
