cozzeyI am 6'1 and a 170 lb pretty hardcore skier who would be riding these in the resort as well. do you think the 13 din on these compares to that of a pivot or salomon sth? Or would I trash these things??
What DIN do you normally ride? DIN numbers are standardized, so they should be exactly the same across all brands (at least for those that are officially certified, which Guardians are). If you're planning on running these at 13 DIN, I'd probably recommend checking out the Guardian 16's just since it's not ideal to always be riding at the max setting of a binding. But if you normally run with a lower DIN setting, you should expect the exact same release qualities in the Guardian as you would in a regular binding (so long as they are properly set up).
I know plenty of people that ride Guardians in the resort. The main complaint is the increased stack height, which I personally don't really care about. If you're trying to lap the park, then I wouldn't recommend these, but for all-mountain stuff, I wouldn't worry about trashing them.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
