don't waste one second worrying about some park rats judging you, we were all beginners at some point. if youre not feeling the vibe just chat someone up or ask the the speed for something. most people are chill and you'll see that when you engage with them

as for skiing itself, i say just try shit and come back with specific questions, ideally with video. coming from snowboarding, youre going to know plenty already of the basics

i hear ya, i know the social pressure can be rough in the park when youre new. but if it helps, consider trying stuff and possibly falling in front of them all as a necessary step toward becoming what you want to be. no one has ever gotten good at park without falling

Having switched from being a decent snowboarder to newb park skier a few years ago (I broke my arm on a board so took up park skiing so it was lower consequence to begin with at least), I found that a lot of stuff translates pretty easily and looks good. Gapping/tapping boxes, grabs, spins etc are all relatively similar. Only major difference I found was going sideways on skis (I was always awful at boardslides). So yeah, as said above, ignore anyone giving you shit and have confidence that a lot of it will come naturally

The "hardcore brighton parkrats" are some of the chillest people you'll meet. Just talk to people on the lift and be friendly, the vibe at btown is generally really positive.

As for learning, just go hike the pee wee park until you get comfy on boxes and rails. Then eventually move up to the milly tubes and never look back. Also some of the candy land features are small but will wreck your shit if you aren't on it, so maybe avoid them till you get comfy with the basics
