hey man I live in Gaylord. 38 and old enough to be your dad. lol. if you haven't been to Otsego club, go check it out. they have a new park guy and jumps are better than anything ive hit in Michigan in a few years! loooooong steep landings. its worth the 65$ for a Saturday. first season this resort is open to public

sup dude, i live in east lansing but make trips to caberfae/boyne/crystal every few weekends. where do you usually ski at?

Are they as good as the jumps that the OPark had in 2011? That was one of the best parks to ever hit Michigan.

yeah man. jumps are just as good or better as old O park. not as many rails, but jumps are fire right now

Wondering this also. Their parks were so damn dialed in. Growing up skiing Crystal / Cabby it was my first experience with a park of that magnitude. I don’t think I’ve seen jumps that nice since

Came back home over winter. Crystal has really dialed back their park. Most features are ride on, or just small.

Don't know if it's because of snow or 3 people dieing over the past 4 years.

Hmu if you're ever in the Houghton/Hancock area

@zoutendamat53 I grew up skiing Crystal, I’m out east now.

@Lonely, new park manager this year - the old one stepped down. Both are good homies & good people. I can’t speak for him but I feel as if he’s taking the safe approach in his first season - not trying to ruffle any feathers with feature size or skill level. Crystal’s management is very sensitive (exspecially w/ the deaths in the past). That being said I did bust his balls about all the ride on features - it’ll only improve over the coming season. He also drives snow cat & does all the builds so everyone is now on the same page. The shaping of Little Vincent quarter pipe is a product of that

No problems here. More of just an observation. I only ski there maybe twice a year and ive moved away from park. Even though it is all ride on its at least well built.

I do think that moving features to little was a great idea. It's a little more out of the way, making it less accessible to the people who shouldn't be in there. Tucks and Basin street were way to accessible and obvious imo.

Every family and there six year old could see it and get right to it off the lift. Couldn't tell you how many young kids and new skiers I saw get eaten by icy features.

I'm down in GR most of the year but I try to go to the Highlands any weekend I can. I mostly stick to Cannonsburg and Bittersweet but any day up north is always better.

Yup, same here. I had never seen or hit jumps like that in Michigan. They were actually really big and shaped so well. I got a concussion and messed my shoulder up overshooting the second jump late in that 2011 season. I was up there like every Friday when I didn't have class though. had that weekend public pass they offered.
