Replying to Popping my AT Cherry - Ski Choice

So I’m getting into some AT this year, I’m gunna be skiing mostly NZ with the the odd trip to BC/Japan - so a bit of everything. I don’t envision going on massive multi-day tours, talking more day trips.

I’m 6” and 200lbs, decent skier, while my technique isn’t amazing I’ll give most things a nudge. Would love something super surfy (Rocker 2 122s hands down one my of favourite skis), currently on 183 Armada TST’s (Upgrading these to a Deathwish- feel free to weigh in on this too).

Hoping to put the new Salomon AT Bindings on em (again, opinions welcome). Have Atomic Waymakers, so looking to make up for that extra weight in the ski, in saying that I’m considering a pair of touring boots.

I’m looking at the moment at -
- Aramada Tracer 108/118
- Dynafit Beast
- Rossi Soul 7

To be fair if the snow is shit house I’m probably not gonna be hitting it, so pow performance is important, but skiing NZ it can’t be super scary in crud/ice.

I get that I’m not gunna everything I want, but as long as it’s a fun ski that doesn’t rape my legs on the way up and scare the shit out of me on the way down I’m happy, fully open to any and all suggestions and totally appreciate your help in advance!
