I am posting here because I am trying to decide between two great all mountain/park skis and would appreciate additional perspectives.
I am 5' 6", 135 lbs, and advanced intermediate skill level. I'm trying to make a call on an everyday ski for Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows (days when they don't have 10"+ new snow) and I'm really interested in J Skis for the usual reasons (indie, absolutely incredible customer service, Jason's history and mission in the industry) but I'm torn between the 168" Masterblaster Predator and the 164" Allplay Great Wave. They will be used for resort skiing, some trees and bumps, and limited park, but I tend to like playful and versatile skis.
I like what I've read about the Masterblasters and the reviews are consistently great, but I am also intrigued by the shape, weight, and playfulness of the Allplay. The artist collab and Japanese artwork on that ski also make it one of J Ski's best yet in my opinion. Is it the case that they're both great options and the tradeoff is a playfulness for a little stability at high speeds?
J Skis has already generously provided me with great technical considerations and points of differentiation between the two, but I'm curious to get other mostly unbiased skiers' POVs... Anyone have thoughts or helpful advice based on experience?
