can u / should you sharpen the edges of tiwn tips?
my probblem is that i left my fujis in my moms car for 3 days and when i got them they had rust along the edges. i dont know if it will slow me on the snow or catch on the rail or mess somthing up, i just want to get rid of it....so is it ok to shapen the edges...and also anyone have tips on preventing rust and how to get it off with out paying $$ to shapen?

well to prevent rust keep your skis dry by bringing them inside after everytime you ride and wiping them down w/ a towel and yes you can sharpen twin tips but i wouldnt do it too much. just to get the rust off because if you do it all the time then you can catch an edge on rails

also if i just skied with the rust on it would it catch on rails or slow me down?

no dude, after three days hardly any rust will have formed. You could probably wipe it off with your finger if you tried. Dont worry about drying your skis off everynight. just take them inside somewhere dry and they will air dry. that rust that is on your skis now will come off after like 2 runs and you wont even notice it. If you had left your skis sitting in wet for a couple weeks then you might have something to worry about.

just use a brillow pad or steel wool...it will come off

My edges are sometimes about 60% rust when I go skiing after leaving them in the shed over the weekend. They haven't bothered me yet.

rust can be easily avioded even if you keep your skis in the car or garage, just seperate your skis, dont leave them locked together..

if you have a ski rack on top of your car its a good idea to wipe them off when you get home. salt from the roads can eat through edges pretty quickly it left alone, ive learned from experience.
