If you can do it on the ground you can do it on snow. Obviously you know how to commit so you'll be fine. Just try to pick a jump that isn't shitty and gives you chest height air or more. Avoid anything with a gnarly kink in the transition like shitty cut ups that have the huge bump before or in the base of the tranny.

Hips are really good imo if you deck out. You get head height easily without going that big, or that far forward. If you don't land it, even though it's flat you just kind of fall over. Versus traveling far and low on some jumps where if you don't land it you smash hard or ragdoll.

The less distance the better for learning imo. Also will make it relate better to standing backflips.

I wouldn't say it's all the same but it kind of is. The biggest thing is finding a decent jump and hucking the first one. You'll probably nearly land it. Then try a few more till you get it. Then do them all the time until you can do them in your sleep.

Most fun trick imo. Not sure if I'll do one this season but was still doing em this summer. I'm getting old and becoming a pussy lol.

Pipe walls at the end to deck, or similar style cut ups or wind lips are a good bet too.

Find something poppy with a soft landing. Backyard pow jumps or a wind lip like others said are great, also no need to go huge first one either. Really easy just scary at first but if its pow or slush you'll probs be totally fine. Send it!

Catching your tips fucking sucks. Especially if you're flying low and far.

Do it on a kicker in the park . Easiest to learn .

So does over rotating to your back/head. I've done it on a fairly big jump and it hurt like fuck

It is highly recommended to build your own jump on a pow day. The chances of under/over rotating is just too damn high

Hopefully gonna send my first backflip this weekend, we've been getting a fair bit of fresh snow out here so I'll hopefully try one conditions permitting. I can backflip on a trampoline pretty easily and I'm pretty stoked to try one. Wish me luck ma dudes

Yeeeee send it. Takes a bit of commitment to whip your head around. Spot that landing and stomp it.

If you can do one on the ol ground I’m pretty sure you’ll have no problem at all... find some powder, a kicker, and a poop ton of peer pressure and you’ll get it... I can’t even do backflip on a trampoline and I can land em (sometimes). Good Luck bud.

I would recommend your first go be on a low consequence feature. The first backflip I ever hucked I almost did 2 because the takeoff was lippy and I was a n00b.
