Sir Francis Bacon Sizing (5'7" 155 lbs)

Hey team - looking at buying a pair of Bacons. There have been a bunch of threads on this but can't seem to find anyone else my size.

As the title says, I'm 5'7" and 155 lbs. Pretty athletic/aggressive skier in general. I have never gone over 172CM so this one is interesting for me.

I have a pair of Chronics that are still in great shape so they will be my park/shitty condition ski, but when I make trips out west I want to have the Bacons as an option. I also want to be able to ride them/mess around on them back on the east coast - hit the (extremely) occasional rail, make some turns with my dad to get 10 runs by 10 AM, and hit side booters of course. But again, these would be a primarily big mountain resort ski.

As I understand it, the 184 isn't actually too big for someone like me, but I'm still skeptical because that's 14CM taller than me already.

Should I go 178 or 184?

Get the 184s dude you won't regret it, they size small so it'll really be like 181 or 182 plus they will float better and be slightly more stable than the 178s

The newer ones lack stiffness! So if you go longer size you'll probably feel it too unstable

The newer ones are actually stiffer

Oh really? Well my bad. Thought so since i saw several comments saying it lacks torsional rigidity and support for crushing.

im 5'9 170lbs and ride the 184's and they do not feel long at all, I actually wouldn't mind them being slightly longer. They are actually stiffer than the previous generation of bacons but still not stiff by any means, its a full wood core ski, no metal. The factory recommended mounting point is pretty close to center so they do feel shorter due to the mounting point. Get the 184's and don't look back.
