I highly doubt that we will be in a conflict with North Korea any time in the next 10-15 years. They have one of the worst economies in the world. If we just sit back and do nothing they will implode on themselves. No nukes are needed.

Hmmm....lets think about this. When was the last time we had a nuclear standoff? It was the Cold War. We won that war be cause the Soviets simply ran out of money, and could no longer compete with the US's econemy. North Korea is already a poor as fuck, so why would they make a move towards a standoff? I wager that they are going to try and use there weapons as bargaining leverage. Kim Jong is going to bully with nukes so that he can have more money. This is where it gets scary. I doubt North Korea plans on leaving those warheads idle. I'm sure they are well aware the we, the United States, can simply wait it out. Kim Jong Il is an unstable and disturbed man. That is why I fear that he may have little hesitation to use these bombs. The signs seem to point to a irrational move by TPRK.

good call quinny. they're def. a bargaining tool.

even though i'm glad to live in america and all the patriotic bullshit, i still have to look at it from the rest of the world's perspective. we (the U.S.) have declared that we are the only ones that are ''allowed'' to have nucular devices based on the idea that we already have them so we're in a position of power and have the 'right' to do so. now that another country (or countries) has nucular bomb technology, we're all paranoid. what about how everyone else feels? other countries could be saying ''damn, those psycho americans have nucular technology...we gotta do something about it before they blow us all up.'' i am a firm believer in the idea that we are no more special than anyone else, our ideals are not necessarily the best for everyone, and we should NOT try to act as the world's police force...nucular bombs or otherwise.

and ps...WWIII will most likely come in the form of little test tubes and ''dirty'' bombs. there will probably be no explosive destruction. but, that's for another discussion.
