Pow surfs

Been seeing a lot of videos recently of skiers using pow surfs. Never had one but they look really fun are they really hard to use? they look like unless you have super deep pow they would be hard to use. I skateboard and i have surfed along with tried snowboarding once or twice for fun. They look sweet but can you really use them without at least knee deep pow? How difficult are they to learn?

i havent gotten a chance to ride a decent one in deep snow but it looks amazing

that said, if youre looking for something similar that's not made for deep snow (im very envious of people who are around pow so much they are willing to give up ski time on it!), id highly suggest getting a snowskate. theyre mad fun for urban/suburban/backyard/hiking around shit and needless to say they dont require pow
