Totally disagree. I see a lot of skiers use poles incorrectly or as a crutch. Skiied without poles today for the first time it a while and not only is it really fun but also can make you a better skier in some ways. Not saying do it all the time but give it a go

To be honest I'm not really one to ski without poles myself but I've definitely noticed a ton more kids doing so this season than before. Plus, there's a reason racers train without poles as it strengthens technique.

One day, I forgot my poles at home, and I never went back. I have skied without poles for years, it does increase technique a ton. It really forces you to focus on footwork, especially on steep hardpack.

Idk why people debate poles vs no poles. Just ride your skis and do what you want. Personally I think a lot of people who ride no poles look like its their first day skiing but if you can rock that style its dope and can even look better than poles if you do it right. But lately ive been fucking w the long pow poles for sure

31 people and counting are nopoles douchebags. Luckily you will never be good enough to ski difficult terrain, more for the good skiers :)

I don't use poles in the park because they feel useless, but if I'm in trees or out of the park for a day ill use poles. Who gives a shit if you use poles or not.

I almost always ski without poles. However I'm a certified ski instructor (CSIA level 1 and CFSA) and have a background in racing. Not everyone who chooses to ski without poles in the park is a trash at actual skiing, contrary to what you seem to be implying.

Another NSer that "can't afford" something that costs less than his daily bag of weed. Save a dollar a day, and you'll be good to buy a set from the local thrift store in 5 days! Doubt it'll actually give you the ability to ski harder than me, but at least you will be one step closer to looking like a legitimate skier.

Why does everything have to be poles vs no poles, reality check guys, skiing is a really silly activity that we all take part in, if youre doing it and not having fun then there’s absolutely no reason to do it, so if riding with poles does it for you or riding without poles and letting those arms swang does then you do you, this is already such a small community, theres no room for stupid arguments about whos having fun the right way
