Hi, I am looking for a powder ski to add to my quiver. Here is some info about me to better help you guys assist me in buying my skis.
-6’2” 200lbs
-PNW ~Northern Idaho/Washington/Montana
-Current skis, 2017 Line Sir Francis Bacon 190cm
-What I expect out of this ski, something to use on powder days that will float well, bust through crud, and be maneuverable in the trees.
-Will a waist width of 116mm be enough for a dedicated powder ski?
So before this year I have been using my brothers old skis, but this year decided to buy my own gear and bought some 2017 Line Sir Francis Bacon skis. These are great skis and I have really enjoyed them, but we’ve had a couple big powder days, 8” or more, and I find myself wanting something wider for powder days. I have been researching different powder skis and have read really great things about both the
ON3P Billy Goat and
Moment Bibby. I am open to suggestions for any skis you guys think might fit the bill, not just the ones I listed. Also a concern I have with the 2 skis I listed above is will they be wide enough for a powder ski or should I look into something wider. The Billy Goats have a 116 underfoot and the the Bibbys have a 118 underfoot.
Thanks for any help you can give me!
