Mounting Bindings in Same Holes

So recently I bent my brake on my FKS 140 after landing switch. I am trying to get it bent back, but it's a pain in the ass with the ski in the way. I want to unmount the rear binding to bend the brake back and remount it in the same holes. Has anyone done this and not had their binding pull out? Any advice?

I've done it successfully but it's a lot more risky, especially if your ski has a soft core or doesn't have metal in it. The likelihood of needing to put in heli coils is super high. If you're comfortable putting in heli coils then send it

Perhaps take it to a shop and get their opinion? They have the correct tools and expertise to get the job done

Way easier to bend the brake back in the ski. Get a heat gun and a heat shield warm it up and bend that bitch back. Use a old pole or something over the brake to get more leverage.

My skis have a poplar core (2015-16 Da Nollies), have you done it without heli coils on poplar or similar wood?

That's basically what I was doing before, but I was having trouble bending it back to original shape that way.

Yea definitely don't do it on those. Like someone else said, just hit the breaks with a heat gun and bend them. The breaks don't have to be perfectly shaped, they just have to stay out of the way but drag on snow when your ski pops off

for fks you'll want a pozzie 3. take it off once your done use some wood glue or some other sort of glue that is water resistant.
there's a good video for bending fks breaks in gear talk that's stickyed.

Yes it's doable and it's very easy. Wood glue and hand tighten the screws.

But, I see absolutely no reason to take off the heel. It would only make the brake harder to bend. Leave it on and just bend them back.

No. You must remove the entire heel and disassemble it in order to take the brake off the heel piece

Don't remove the binding. If you were to have to, they'd go back in just fine with some wood or gorilla glue.

IMPORTANT: put a boot in the binding before bending it. This will prevent you from ripping the whole brake off or bending something else. I'd even recommend putting your foot in the boot too to help keep the ski from moving as you bend it. Heating it up will help but might not be necessary. And like someone said, stick an old pole without the grip or some other rod over the bake to get more leverage and you should be able to bend it out of the way pretty easily. I've done this successfully multiple times on FKS's.
