I have skied Schweitzer my whole life then one year they sold out, closed Alpenglow deli to put in some stupid yuppie wine and cheese store and put yellow jackets all over the hill. Consequently, I got yelled at my first run for skiing switch on a blue run nowhere near a slow zone.

RIP Alpenglow... We had many good times chillin there watching OG ski movies.

Didn't get stopped this season but 3 seasons ago before I worked at the hill i do now:
Jumped a fence onto a main run because the coast looked clear as I dropped. A little jerrilina come flying down the hill no control going buck 10 with a t-shirt on and no jacket. Just smoked her with my shoulder. She went flying a good 10-15 feet full yard sale. An instructor came up to me and I thought I was fucked. She started to lecture the little girl who she apparently knew for skiing out of control. Ski patrol came by and asked for a statement cause they thought I ditched as soon as I hit her. I told them what happened and they just said don't do it again.
That was like half the reason I decided to apply to work there the next season. I could tell all the staff were chill as fuck

He then yells at ME for being out of control and going too fast and threatens to take my day pass.

I ran from the yellow jackets at Breck in 2016 down four-o-clock run. I had always wanted to do it but having a pass made it not worth it. I went with the Copper/WP pass that year so I had no incentive to stop for these guys as it was the end of the day. So I paid them no attention as I flew passed them and looked back to see the yellow jacket in pursuit. I dropped into a ball tuck on my beat to hell, un-waxed park skis and it was on. My girlfriend at the time was renting an apartment somewhere off four-o-clock run but I hadn’t actually skied there from the run yet. I was given instructions on how to find it but in the adrenaline inducing chase I forgot exactly where it was. So yellow jacket it yelling at me to stop and I look over my shoulder to see him pushing towards me. I get out of my ball tuck and do the same. We are flying down four-o-clock with about as much speed as that shitty green will allow. He keeps yelling at me that he just wants to talk. Yeah right, I wasn’t born yesterday. So we keep going and I start panicking, where is this damn apartment?! My plan was to ski into the parking lot and run to the apartment and hide out. So I see my turnoff and take it. Now yellow jacket has gone above and beyond and is on the radio yelling out our location. I’m taking my skis off when he catches up to me and grabs my jacket when I proceed to tell him to fuck off. He demanded my pass and the look on his face when I gave him my ticket was priceless. He told me that I was being put in “the system” and wouldn’t be allowed back. Well I bought the Epic pass last year with no problems so that was obviously BS. Anyways, it was fun and glad I had the experience.

Ive had a good few encounters with yellow jackets, but this is actually from when I was living on the east coast. I was at an event at my home mountain, like a railjam type thing. There was a break between like age groups or something so me and my buddy zach thought we could maybe get a run in real quick. We go down to this one lift not many people usually use and there was actually a pretty fat line. Us being hooligans thought we could go in the empty ski school line. We send it and have to take in a single because it was a three person chair. This older dude joins us and immediately asks if we are ski school in a slightly demanding tone. Kinda shook we just said yea, I mean he wasn't wearing the ski patrol jacket and seemed like a jerry. When we went up the lift it was full interrogation, he asked us a good bunch of questions and I asked if he had any authority and he said he was an undercover ski patrol. I started cracking up because i had a bunch of buddies in park crew and they have never mentioned undercover ski patrol so I assumed he was just a goof. But if anyone has heard of the undercover ski patrol please let me know.

I swear I thought these Vail Inc Mountain Gestapo yellow clowns were just old dudes too cheap to pay for passes that could help you find your way around the mountain. Not so since patrollers would rather assist with injuries and manage terrain instead of being dicks.

My wife and I were checking our speed down a blue groomer while working our way around a patroller with sled and the usual Jerry's at Heavenly. I know, our first mistake was going to Heavenly. Well this tool was behind us just yelling incomprehensibly so we ignored him and stayed focused on the sled. Past that we ducked into some trees and when we got to mid mountain on the CA side he was now yelling at my wife. Without much of a coordinated uniform to identify him, I asked why he was yelling at people from behind, told him we saw the sled, and asked who he was. He said we came within 15 feet of the sled. I accused him of exaggerating and asked if there was any incident we created.
He never identified himself despite being asked several times and I basically questioned any authority he thought he might have while he was going all Barney Fife on me. Only then did he ask for my pass and I refused, so the chase was on. Basically we skated in circles at the base of Powderbowl, Patsy's, and Groove ducking in and out of lift lines while he yelled at me for ducking lift ropes and called for backup on his concealed radio. I loaded Patsy's while he thought he could get ahead of me on Groove. A slight wardrobe change midlift and I was off around the Aerial Tramway to drill the trees in East Bowl Woods. Never saw him again and spent the rest of the day skiing the NV side.

Best bet is to ignore the Vail Inc Mall Cops and walk or ride/ski away. Don't give them your pass or allow them to scan you for the information. They can't detain you and unless you committed a crime, no real police will waste their time. Passed my experience along to plenty of locals in South Lake and they all agreed no one respects those guys.

A great reason to not bother with vails liability concerned shit hole. I skied vail for a year during the drought and almost got my pass pulled for the most random shit. For example doing a safety grab over a side hit I skied past a yellow jacket who swore I had just committed a major “crime” and said I could have killed myself or someone else because I was reckless. He asked for my pass so I gave him an old day pass from a different resort and skied off. By the time he realized it wasn’t a valid pass I was in the parking lot.
Since then I returned to Sierra-at-Tahoe and the only thing that has only slightly upset a yellow jacket was hiking up a closed run to get to the park. She told me not to do it again and let me finish my hike. I could care less about vail resorts and it’s not worth it anyway. Pow gets tracked in 5 seconds and everything seems to be a liability. I’d definitely change mountains if I were you.

Last Christmas I was skiing Vail with my family and another family for our vacation. I didnt pick Vail, the moms did. But anyway it was like day 4 on the mountain and I was cursing down a blue, tall hoody and all. And I get to the bottom and start to take off my goggles and skis and a yellow jacket comes flying up behind me screaming, saying you're completely out of control, what were you doing. At this point I was so confused because it was a good 45 - 60 seconds that I had been down at the bottom just relaxing. This yellow jacket said I was out of control and that she was going to pull my pass. I legit was so so so confused like no one was near me, the trail was a blue, I wasn't even going fast.. So I legit just walked away from her. And she says come back and pulls me by my hoodie and gives me a ticket. I legit got this stupid warning that I was skiing too "FAST" on a blue trail and if I got caught again I wouldn't be able to ski and have to take a safety class. I HATE YELLO JACKETS. End rant

This one time I was helping my buddy with his car that sat all summer. Turns out there was a fat hive on the inside of the front bumper that got agitated when popping the hood. Got stung like 4 times. Fucking hate yellow jackets.

Last run of the day on whistler, nobody at all on the run and I'm just spinning in circles for as long as I can. Spun around a corner, a Yellow Jacket was standing there. He basically just started yelling at me, and I completely ignored him and kept spinning past him. Did chase me at all. No consequences.

Also at whistler, my buddy who was skiing on a borrowed pass got stopped at the base. Lady said he was going too fast and she needed to see his pass. He said he hiked up the mountain, when she asked his name he said bobby, just bobby. And she asked what’s your last name he said that is his last name and his full name is Ricky Bobby. Somewhere in whistler Yellowjacket hq there’s a picture of my friend and it says his name is Ricky bobby. I guess talladega nights wasn’t big in Canada
