First time on Snow...

I've now been Skiing about 8 years, and never in that time have I skied on snow, just dry slope Dendix and SnowFlex, but this February I've finally got the chance to go abroad for some snow (Austria)... So I'm wondering, whats snow like to ski on? Anything that'll be vastly different? And any tips for a first time snow skier after so long on a toothbrush...

Well First, there are many different type of snow, so it's going to be hard to describe all of them. But mostly, you will be able to really get some carving on your edges, and it's faster than snowflex whithout the annoying noise. But that's for the early morning groomers, later in the day it gets softer and the fun really begins when it get's all bumpy. Also, faceshots, pow, throwing snowballs at your friends, spraying other people and backsliding ice patches is all part of the fun of real snow.

I really can't wait to get on snow now then, especially with the idea that you can get some real carving on it... It all sounds great though, I feel like I've been missing out this last 8 or so years, the only thing I'm afraid of is that after snow, I won't enjoy dry slope skiing once I'm back from Austria haha, thanks for the info though

this exactly. there's no telling what kind of snow you will encounter on your trip but it's a safe bet youre gonna fuckin love it and youre gonna ski really well on it. maybe itll take a couple minutes to get used to, but definitely dont waste any time worrying that youre going to have any trouble with it! have fun man

I'm super excited to go out there, especially now after what people have said about snow, but I'm pleased it's gonna be better, and it's not going to be a pain to get used to, I'll take your advice though, waste no time and just enjoy it haha, thanks man 👍

yeah dude, if you've enjoyed 8 years of skiing on carpet youre going to have a ball. i mean there's a tiny chance it's so icy or hard that it's even worse than carpet but that prob wont be the case, and if it was everyone would be disliking it, not just you haha. youre in good shape man, just go in with a confident and open minded head
