i bought a new pair of k2 domain 2017 skis and on the first ride i did a nollie and one of the buttoms on the back flew of. i didnt really worry about it and continued riding. some hours later i saw that one off my buttoms on the top of the ski had dissaperd to. next day i went to the shop where i bought them and they said they are going to contact k2. some days later they said that they going to switch my skis to a new pair of them. i got the new ones and went to the mountain. after the sesh my buttoms was there but i could spin on some of them. Are the buttons importent or is it only a detail?
It's a bit of both really. The rivets are domestic as much as anything really but can offer some extra hold on the tips and tails. Don't worry about them spinning and they can pop off if you land with your feet very close. Jake carney blew them all off my poachers.
if the empty hole bothers you, you can use a t-nut, a spacer and a screw to fill it. it will serve the same purpose but not look as neat as the k2 one.
