Stopping my boot from bruising my toe nail!!!!!

my roxa free birds (FT booter with a different name) are great but they are too tight on my left toe and almost every day after skiing my toe and nail is sore and bruised. i trimmed my footbeds by the toe and maybe i need to more but i wanna hear maybe some other suggestions. they fit great otherwise. i dont wanna mold them because i think theyd break in too fast???? help me out

I just got some TW pros and I have the same problem. Snug everywhere and fit nice except my toe gets shoved foreward and hurts bad after.

Did u get fitted in to them by a reputable bootfitter? It might be caused by skiing/landing backseat or bad fit. You can probably get the toes punched out so they have a little bit more room, but either way go to a bootfitter. Also heat molding just saves you a few days worth of pain before the liners pack out a bit, definitely worth it.

If your boot is "great" but it bruises your toe, then it isn't great. Either boot is too big and toe is ramming into the shell, or shape of the toe is too small for your foot and it is slowly crushing your toe all day. I had the latter problem my old Il Moros, no amount of molding or bootwork could fix it, the toebox was simply too small for my big toe. Got a new boot that actually fit and never looked back.

Mold them, I rode a 26.5 freebird for 2 years and theres some space from the toe (downsized this year) but after I molded them they were awesome and I still use them with older skis sometimes. Im on the element 120 and its miles better, similar to a 2015 il moro T and locks your ankle in place so I dont toe bang at all really. Review said it was good without a mold too. I suggest seeing a shop about it, I think I had a 25.5 shell in mine too.

its most likely a misfit with your feet and boots. Unfortunately theres no way to know ahead of time that the boot youre buying will have no issues. I use to get a lot of toe bang, shin bang, etc but now that i found my perfect pair, all those issues disapeared immediately.

I prefer skiing without toenails it takes about 3 years for your toes to get used to it but after that it pretty nice

Are you riding in the backseat all the time? Because that will for sure fuck up your toenails. Also don't cut your nails too short as suggested. I did that and now am dealing with an ingrown toenail on both sides of my toe- hurts worse than bruising a toe if you hit the front of your boot with it.

Correcting the backseat issue helped me solve the toe bang problem.
