Edge/base damage help

The side of my ski hit the front of a rail today and the teeth from the edge created a bump in the base. The sidewall is fine and the edge hasn't separated from the ski. I've heard that you can heat the bump up and clamp it down to flatten it. Any other ideas?

Thanks. I haven't been on Ns that much except to watch an occasional edit so I haven't been on top of this thread. I have seen that thread and thats what I would normally do (done that before in the past), but the damage isnt nearly that bad. That is exactly what happened though. The edge separated from the base and the sidewall in that example, and mine is together entirely. there is no separation anywhere, just a fairly large bump and a dented edge. Cutting it out isn't the move because that imo since it hasnt really been compromised from the initial damage.

in that case, i'd probably just file down the raised base until its flat and fill the edge dent with jb weld then sand it down until it's flush.
