What’s wrong with this?

Look where you want to land, towards the end of the rail you start looking down and to the side.

Your body will follow where ever your shoulders and head are going. Open up your chest, shoulder and head downhill. Also you can try pedaling a bit.

I’m not too backseat?

couple of things...

1. you pop off the lip unevenly, with your left foot coming off the snow first. kind of odd. try to take a stance that is a little less wide than your current stance, a little more forward in your boots (this help you control the aggressiveness of your "pop"). it will also help with your balance. looks like you're a little wobbly. hands in front instead of by your sides.

2. by the time you are halfway down the rail, you are already pointed past 90 degrees. you are rotating from the time your skis touch the rail until they leave the rail. this is because your torso is closed. your front ski never really needs to reach completely perpendicular to the rail (90 degrees). you want to hop onto the rail with your chest angled more towards the end of the rail than parallel to the rail. this allows you keep your eyes locked to the end of the rail & your front ski less than 90; allowing you to scissor/pedal (grip) the rail and balance.

3. with pedaling comes the ability to dictate how you come out of the rail; fakie or foward. it also allows you to initiate swaps * spins out. keep your knees bend and some pressure in the cuff of your boot will help you pedal and balance on the rail.

yea just look at the end of the rail and start playing with that downhill heel. If you drop it down / raise your toes up, you will rotate back to forward / normal direction. It takes some getting used to, but don't get into the habit of just sliding rails at say 60 degrees like I did, its so hard to go back to landing switch if its not a box.

When I learned rails, I had this problem too for a while. How I fixed it was learned to look at the end of the rail more and putting more pressure on my heel to start to land forward. Maybe also try to just keep your head forward the whole time. Hope this helps!
