thebusiness19Jesper Tjader is doing more to push the boundaries of the sport than almost anyone
DeebieSkeebiesAs someone who lives and dies with skiing the cottonwoods here in Utah,Snowbird is straight up fucking bullshit gimmicks and the vibe is starting to kinda die there.
It's hard to narrow it down but there were some things in terms of logistics and terrain management that pissed me off. You're really gonna fucking close the entire gad valley like in mid-spring when we are having like one of the best seasons in decades? Not to mention it was fucking so annoying seeing them do "control work" on stuff that was clearly good to ski, but wouldn't open up at all except for their fucking bullshit "team riders" and cool insta photos. They would literally hold stuff so it would make for a good social media post.
Ski industry marketing is down right angering
SegsxiI can’t get down with Oakley, yeah it’s premium features but that big letter O just looks so ugly
Pancake_FuckerFull tilts are the most overrated boot ever.
SteezySmith57They really are but like anything that's overrated, they're overrated for a reason
SofaKingSickin this case, marketing
lmmccThe Bunch and New Wave isn't cool or stylish. Big mountain is much better.
Rum_HamI get so excited when ON3P posts a video of someone just fuckin charging instead of the usual Magnus swerve fuckery
thebusiness19I'm sure this is going to get crapped on.
Real ski was kind of a let down this year. Before getting into this, I will say first, Antti and Casabon had amazing segments (amongst the best of all time). I really liked Hornbeck's, he really slayed, especially considering his broken ribs. Keegan's had bangers as well, some of the best shots period, but it would have really benefitted if he had the resources to film longer than two weeks.
I just felt the overall impression this year was less than the last year. I feel there will be heated debates Antti versus Phil, but in previous years, I feel there was a case to be made about almost all the segments. Like Ahmet's part didn't even medal and it was one of my personal favorite urban segments out there. (He grinding on an effing billboard)
This year, I understand that there were things out of the athletes control (Magnus/Hornbeck getting injured), but, I feel overall it lacked the polish from previous years. I remember in both past years, I would play all the segments at once in front of friends that didn't watch skiing and they were amazed front to cover. Like, this year, if LJ didn't want to go as hard as he did last year (which is more than understandable), they should have just gone with someone who was hungry to push it to their personal limit.

RdikkenSnowboarding is fun as fuck
ColingarnesI grew up skiing (4yrs - 13yrs) then switched to snowboarding from (13-26) now back to skiing the last few years.. while snowboarding was fun I doubt I'll ever put snowboard boots on again.
SofaKingSickTrains are fuckin gaaay. Oh look mom I did some lame ass trick and then skylar did too then Tyson did another one isn't that neat?
RparrI am only amused by trains if every member of the train is throwing crazy shit. I remember seeing a lip on blind 2 train on insta and all the trend-kiddies were losing their minds over it. I literally could not have been any less indifferent about it

LukeTheWaffleSkis should be shorter than your nose
search4freshiesRight on for your formally airing your grievances, BUT...
-Tallest peak in Colorado is Mt Elbert @ 14,440ft. Sounds like all of your "Big Mountain" experience is in Frisco with front rangers who commute from Denver and wear saga bibs.
-freetouring = freeride touring =/= (all) ski touring. Skimo is a type of ski touring and I bet you wont find any of those weight weenies hucking their meat in the CB backcountry.
-Ian McIntosh is a dirty ginger and I can whole heartedly back you on your disapproval. (another) BUT the dude can shred a pair of sticks down a vertical face, and has probably sent more cliffs than either of us have ever walked up to and scoped.
While I'm posting here's my most unpopular skiing opinion;
"The best skiing in Colorado is in Summit and Grand counties" Anyone who has ever skied off of the I-70 corridor thinks its the epitome of skiing "out west". Little do they know down in the SW of the state, we have the snow, the terrain, and the local rippers to have those front range folks thinking their in Alaska.
