Lenny-Short form ski videos/clips are better most the time.
I don't care to see random B roll of your homies or whatever. I don't care to see 100 mid clips to get to the 3 good clips in your 30 min ski "film". I don't care how artsy you think you are. Most the time I see a 10+ minute I don't watch it unless it was made by certain people, over 30 minutes feels like you don't respect my time.
Christian_Baleat this point I'm getting tired of super 8 in videos. Not against it but I feel like it's more of a routine now for more established crews (both skiing and boarding) and the footage gets used in the similar ways each time.

I'd rather watch dope instagram edits on my feed than watch even a 15 min long film. 5 min max, but at that point just put it on reels. Also the whole wave of insta-skiers is kinda sick and from a sponsorship standpoint makes way more sense since the value of sponsoring someone can be quantified based on instagram analytics.

ParkingLotPissThis is getting way more hate then it deserves.
Obviously I love ski films and I don't want them to get replaced by short form content but I also want to see it on my feed.
The sponsorship thing is very valid. it lets you pump out way more media and improve you odds.
Also think about all the cool clips that get taken but don't make the final cut in long form edits a lot of that stuff now ends up going on reels.
TOAST.Sponsorship part is the worst part about it. I don't want to live in a world where someone like Delorme gets looked over because he isn't begging for likes on Instagram and is out filming a full segment.
Makes sense from a company perspective to go with the social media skier because it gets more eyes, but it still sucks and pigeonholes athletes into creating content with no soul.
dwt802If people don’t like watching powder skiing that’s fine but don’t bitch to everyone about how you skipped over insane skiers clips just because you can’t bare to watch it simply due to its discipline. Many of us do in fact like watching sick lines.
