Lenny-Skiing trading cards is the most confusing skiing related product to me. I don't have anything against it, but I don't understand why anyone would pay a dime for that. Even if I got a pack for free I would still just put them in the recycling bin, just feels like junk.
Farmville420You just reminded me I pulled a Nico Porteous way before he was the sickest skier alive
cool270outYeah I’m gonna go ahead and say that skards are the dumbest fucking thing I’ve ever seen on this site
CeleryIt's because snowboarding is cooler than skiing
GayWolf420It's a hot take but it's true. Snowboarding has surf and skate originations and was becoming popular in a time where skiing was starting to become only a thing your parents did on vacation and when skiing started to truly become a rich person's sport. We would all be snowboarders had dudes like JF Cusson, Auclair, all the OGs of freeskiing that wanted to say "fuck you" to competitive mogul skiing never decided to start bending their tails in their garages and getting kicked out of snowboard parks

JalmarKalmarSkiing has a lot cooler history. Vikings, Stone age asians, Sámi people and so much more.

GayWolf420That is very true. Skiers ran so snowboarders could walk, but in terms of the modern age of freeskiing, we all wanted to be like that subconciously.

GayWolf420Terrain parks literally also were invented by snowboarders so give credit where it's due. No disrespect to the pioneers of extreme/Freeride and freestyle/moguls, but freeskiing can owe snowboarding a lot of credit for influence.

fabbeall the people on my opps list are tards
JalmarKalmarWhy is @Rock_Inhabitant on your opps list. He doesn't seem like a tard
nCrowFat tire and Dale's are gross beers and it kinda sucks they're the ones sponsoring so much ski stuff.

hi_vis360Freed had such a unique editing style and I miss it so much. The short songs, random phone clips, frenetic vibe was so entertaining and fun to watch
RparrI think I have a dvd copy of it somewhere, would you want it if I can find it?

FlackerFat tire is fire, one of the best airport beers out there.
weastcoatCamera rotating looks fucking horrible. The topher style of iPhone filming is beyond annoying. Even worse when mfs bring it to long lens too when filming on an tactual camera. Looks so fucking stupid, like bruh I shouldn’t have to tilt my head to see the actual angle of a street rail
KalmarJalmarI hate fish eye rail clips where after a trick the cam is pointed the way that a rail is in the middle of the frame and you can see the skier rolling away somewhere in the corner. Hard to explain, you might understand what I'm trying to say. It really bugs me. Some people(mostly amateurs) have almost all of their rail clips filmed like this which makes it feel repetitive. Fish eye mostly works on very fast paced clips or followcams.
Christian_Baleok sick it's not just me lol. I mind it less when its a tightly filmed clip on a park jump. for street it bugs me how it makes a bit harder to tell exactly what's going on in the clip like for the angle of inrun and rail
weastcoatThis is how fisheye is supposed to be filmed, otherwise using it is counterintuitive because you’re making the feature look smaller not larger. If you’re having the rider roll away in the center of the frame or even still to the side of center you ain’t filming fisheye right.

KalmarJalmarI understand why it's being done. I just don't like it in most clips. Shadows Fade had few fast paced taps with this type of filming and it's really the only way in works for my eyes. Otherwise if your video has these shots repetitively, they get boring quickly. Having few here and there are fine and doesn't ruin the vibe. I don't like how most of the clips are too similar. Normal lense+nice distance+different angles+ nice subjective amount of zoom just looks better to me, this encourages more different looking clips due to more angles available. Also the very not smooth, clunky and almost forced looking cam movement some filmers do while filming like this really bothers my autistic ass.

WoFlowzpark skiing has been washed lately
weastcoatHow so
WoFlowzidk i just feel like everything looks the same. ig has desensitized me, i much prefer seeing a nicely crafted video with some life/personality to it on youtube that’s a solid 4-10minutes than all the skiing i’m seeing. And if it’s gonna be skiing on IG i like to see a slide show with like one or two clips but the rest being parts of trips or homies etc. Seeing everyone do the same sw on sw off or cork 7 has rly ruined shit. Don’t get me started on how everyone just does shifties off rails and considers it a trick.
Lenny-Short form ski videos/clips are better most the time.
I don't care to see random B roll of your homies or whatever. I don't care to see 100 mid clips to get to the 3 good clips in your 30 min ski "film". I don't care how artsy you think you are. Most the time I see a 10+ minute I don't watch it unless it was made by certain people, over 30 minutes feels like you don't respect my time.
hi_vis360Agree, I think a big issue is people don’t put themselves in the place of the audience. B roll is only good if it’s funny or interesting to a complete stranger, and if you aren’t a top tier skier you can’t expect people to watch more than a minute or two of your clips. Sometimes I click on a project and I’m loving the vibe but then I see that there’s like 7 minutes left in the edit and it’s like yeah nah
