muffMan.Slopestyle courses shouldn’t have jumps. There’s already a big air, and the jumps take away from the rail game.
I’m fine with the half pipe style ones but normal jumps shouldn’t be there.
dwt802But by definition jumps are part of slopestyle. Maybe they just have only 1 traditional jump and make 1-3 other unique jumps that could be QP take offs, curves, whale tails, etc. would be cool to see more rail hits but removing jumps almost entirely would make it a different event. I would be down to see a slopestyle event that is a 10 rail line however.
ThisHealsstreet skiers should stop trying to hit the exact same spots as snowboarders and skateboarders and instead think outside the box and hit creative features that wouldn't be possible on skates, or snowboards.
Jemsthis is stupid as hell because there's barely any features that exclusively skiers can hit. Snowboarders have the upper hand on being able to jib essentially anything.
ThisHealsnot talking about features skiers can exclusively hit, im just sick of skiers trying to copy snowboarders with all their street footage

Farmville420It’s also stupid because there aren’t infinite spots… skateboarding, rollerblading, BMX, street skiing, and snowboarding have all been around for 30 years (some even 50 years really). It’s VERY rare to find a completely untouched spot.
me and the homies hit a rail the other day that we thought was original, turns out some skiers in 05’ hit it and had pics to prove it.
ASSholebomber22True facts. Candide even skied the ocean and jungle too.
Farmville420That’s not even the most ridiculous one, people have literally mtb’ed every impoverished South American city in the world. Even better than that, me and my buddies went down a rabbit hole one night about freestyle pogo sticking and found out one of the spots we hit was already hit on a fucking pogo stick. That one traumatized me, imagine hitting something and someone being like “oh I remember that spot from the X-pogo video!”, I’d literally kms

Goretex_VidalBig Air should have a DFD in the landing that has to be hit at least once by each competitor.

jompcockMake the x games slope courses look like your average shitty east coast park sans poorly built lips. Would be hilarious to see what people will rip on a 20 foot park jump as the money booter. DFD's, down rails, maybe a c rail and a fat tube. Constraint breeds creativity.

tootspaceYo post a pic of the rail
SlowbroDude post the pogo clip

Here’s the rail in 05, skier unknown.
As for the pogo edit I cannot for the life of me find it, but it’s a really mellow DFD in denver, one of the high schools just south of downtown.

tootspaceI want an event where there’s a big gap to DFD and it moves 20 ft downhill each time everyone clears it until it’s last man standing
TreeJamHellbents are park skis
270on420outGloves look ugly on every skier even pros
Farmville420The Recruitment by Superproof is probably the most underrated ski movie of all time. It’s corny thematically but the filming, skiing, and spot selection is all time
hi_vis360I agree the filming and skiing are good but I cannot get past the corny shit dude, any ski video that has hardo vibes like that gets an immediate no from me

Farmville420Valid. If I remember correctly I think those dudes were menaces back in the day though. Like genuine hardos iirc so it’s pretty on brand IMO. All the guns in the movie were real and so are Leigh’s face tats lol, pretty sure one of them was also a huge asshole and used to get in fights constantly, can’t confirm tho
Farmville420Also reels are genuinely enjoyable to make. Maybe not to watch but sometimes you don’t feel like pulling out the camera and filming for a feature length movie or edit, but like if it’s a fun day and you happen to land some stuff you don’t normally do it’s nice to be able to edit something super quick and toss it up to the gram I can’t lie

Farmville420feel like halfpipe is the gnarliest facet of freeskiing. As gnarly as street for sure.

Christian_BaleWatched it again a few weeks ago for the first time in years and wow did it age poorly. Yeah the skiing is really good but it's all sandwiched in between ridiculous storyline segments. I respect the work they put in but couldn't help laughing at some of the scenes (diner robbery)
Farmville420Diner robery was the funniest shit ever, same with the kidnapping scene, the sequel is also all the same shit but I think a more intense soundtrack during the ski segs from what I remember
Christian_Baleyo i didn't know they made a sequel I gotta watch that
SchizoSkier“Surface bad vishnu good” mfs upon discovering that they are made in the same factory
verynormalguyAren’t DPS skis made in the same factory as well?
