Patato_CripsI don’t rock with Jackson karsteter, Tanner Blakely, or Luke Votaw or dudes similar too them. Not hating because they aren’t “core” or whatever, but I just genuinely don’t get a good vibe from them, the new “hypebeast” style of skiing just doesn’t do it for me. But I don’t mean to take away from their skiing, they are extremely talented and have put in a lot of effort. But I just don’t like them
WoFlowzWoofbiz pants are nuts for the price. Cool idea of bringing parachute pants to people tho. The neon ones look so bad and the massive rectangle with the tight ankle synch looks so bad. Not to mention 200$ for some ribstop shells??? If ur gonna pay that much atleast get some anytides or something that isn’t just a massive rectangle and took half a hour to make
Farmville420East Coast had a bigger impact on the sport than Europe/West Coast/ Australia and NZ combined.
hi_vis360I agree if you're talking park and street skiing, but if you're talking skiing in general not so much

ReturnToMonkeyWasn't skiing invented in Europe tho? Anyone know if Aboriginals skied?

BradFiAusNzCoCaWow this is a bad opinion. So off base.
Yeah for real. Most people think it’s Scandinavia (it’s not) but Finland is known by snowboarders and skiers alike for urban and urban trips. Both have been taking urban trips to Finland for decades.
hi_vis360honestly forre and the bunch are kind of in their own lane these days. Everybody is trying to be like HG Skis or zootspace (a lot of those dudes are from the east I think
Farmville420Even if street skiing came from Finland I think you’re downplaying tf out of what east coast crews did to it

BradFiAusNzCoCaI’m not downplaying East coast, I’m just saying you can’t unequivocally say they had the biggest impact. What about tanner hall (Montana), candide thovex (France), Jon Olsson (Sweden), Jossi Wells (NZ), etc etc?
And I’m not saying street skiing came from Finland. Just that it’s a very popular destination that has influenced ski and snowboard street culture for decades.
ReturnToMonkeyWarren Miller and Poor Boyz - California
MSP - Colorado
Loads more companies or people who have influence on the direction of the sport are from other places than the east coast. All those film groups certainly had way more impact on the whole freestyle scene than individual athletes.
Saga was started in Montana and moved to Utah. They were super influencial on the sport.
skiermanWME impactful on freeskiing?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
ReturnToMonkeyIn that I mean the man himself. He's from LA
FruitBootProThen you need to get either better clothing or style.
Watch old edits of vinny minton, murda johnson, rachard johnson, brian aragon, julian bah. These guys all have mad steeze and are wearing hella baggy shit.
a lot of modern blading is ugly af but same goes for skiing. Really in any action sport it's all about style.

jprene8You brought up a question for me how do you feel about modern more “tech” I guess flowy mushroom inspired bladders like Bobby Spasov and like bacemint. Personally I like the extra flair from the shiftys, taps, and swivels. But curious about your perspective on it.
MurslopPoles look bad to ride with but performance is so good with them
swag_chicRacing is actually kinda fun. Yeah I hate the people and I would never go back but it was kinda fun cruisin down the hill trying to keep ur edges under you lol

ReturnToMonkeyPoles almost always look way steezier until you can't get any grabs or punch yourself coming off a rail

r00kieCasual racing is a hoot and a half. Lightly competitive, can get the trash talk going on the hill and the bar afterwards, adds some personal challenge. Highly recommend beer league evening racing.
snomasterf*ck racing. unless it's skiercross. That shit is fun. [to do, not watch]

hi_vis360if you shit on ski racing I'm going to assume that you can't carve a good turn
dognutsidk about others but i shit on ski racing because of the clothing and most of the ppl doing it are entitled butt holes
think they own the mtn, snobby, etc
also just looks so boring, like downhill mountain biking is super exciting to watch and most of the guys and gals doing it have a lot of steeze outside the tape.

asparaguslol yeah watching racing feels like f1 but shorter and only 1 car going at a time

jprene8So rally (wrc) lol
Jemsusing griselda in ski edits has gradually become more and more unbearable to listen to

ReturnToMonkeyRally is more like FWT
teabagWrc beats f1 a million to one
jprene8for sure. No disagreement here. They just need to actually find a way to get it in front of race fans (especially outside of Europe) and they would get so much more viewers.
ReturnToMonkeyThe problem was race fans would get in front of the cars, not the other way around

SchizoSkierFreeride is extremely boring to watch and takes no skill
