BC jumping kinda just more unique. You can't really make a jump look a ton different from another jump, so where it's located becomes the artistic value of a BC jump. They are unique and take work to make. Plus you just don't get to see a lot of clean massive dub 9s landed into powder.
On the other hand, urban is a lot more than just rails. There's jibbing and jumping and bouncing and swerving. Urban is next level art because there's so much more potential than anywhere in the snowy mountains. It often takes less work to access and build, but the risk, effort, and pain involved with getting a clean make is why urban is so hardcore

Yeah definitely a large oversimplification, urban and backcountry are way more than just hard jumps and rails. Regardless, I really do hope to see Matej hitting the streets and backcountry, I’m sure it would be dope

K-Dot.I honestly hope this isn’t an unpopular opinion but Child Labor is the worst fucking name for a ski crew. The skiers in it are all dope too, just the name is so tone deaf. It reminds me of the ski crew Young Money Retarded from back in the day, just the worst branding imaginable
Im not trying to get downvoted to shit but honestly I have so much more fun skiing snowbird over alta. Ive skied both places in all kinds of conditions, both shitty and all-time kinds of days, and idk I just vibe so much better with snowbird, but I also love Alta with a good crew
A new event so you have the really long steep trail that every east cost and mid west mountain has. Incorporate the skiers carves how close their skis are. Make the tricks focused on what like magnus does for laps. Kinda defeats the purpose of swerve.

Even if I wasnt a big fan of Gagnier, he is still way more stylish than the horde of FIS CS:GO spinbots that compete in the olympics
I don’t like when movies don’t have name tags during segments, or when they don’t have distinct segments at all. Even if the aim is artistic it comes off to me as lazy, even if it’s deliberate. Idk maybe I’m being a boomer but I really like the formula of structured segments

Gonna one up your take. If you take away certain factors (influence, innovation, progression, nostalgia, and general iconic-ness) I think most gutter was on average a more impressive film than 90% of stept movies, maybe even all of them.
Doesn’t change my opinion on who the obvious goats of street skiing were, just kind of something I’ve been thinking about.

CalCarson2 on continuing 2 is a terrible looking trick even when performed perfectly with mad style. Also think Daniel Hanka is way over hyped and im not a fan of his quadruple shifty shit

Yeah but those two are like the most comparable, it’s like a perfect match. I mean even the song choice, both cam and Sam used electric wizard songs in their parts. Comparing stept to someone like CL would be weird because they literally aren’t even the same type of movie

Should clarify this ain’t all the time but that child labor PC edit had it and on some of the landings. I also feel like comparing Daniel Hanka to Cal isn’t rly do able. They both have a such different way of skiing

you can’t compare either of them, both polar
opposites in skiing style. BUUUUUT as much as i dislike daniel’s style he’s a much better skier than cal is.

i agree it has much better tricks and a good showcase of pure skill but at the same time they aren’t unique at all, i seriously can’t stand sam zahner because all he does are high rotation spins and swaps. basically a more skilled jack karsteter if he actually hit street.
