IsitWinterYet17That's what gets me the most about you animal rights folks. Yeah a lot of farms are cruel to their animals, especially the likes of Tyson sponsored chicken farms and the one place that was caught on camera pushing cows with forklifts, but a lot aren't that bad. You going vegan won't change anything. Just like me saying this won't change anyone's mind. Also in the end, we are still killing them so does it really matter if they get a quick bolt to the head or hung upside down and cut open? Do you think Native Americans hunting Buffalo was a humane event? No it was gory af. We are literally breeding animals to kill them, rip their guts out, chop up their bodies, cook em and throw it on a pizza.
Inhumane: That's like saying criminals on death row shouldn't be electrocuted or hung or shot because it's cruel and inhumane; fucking shit. Not to go off topic but our quest for humanity has given an easy death to convicted murderers on row. They literally get flooded with barbiturates, benzos, and opiates plus or minus potassium chloride and paralytics. People say it's inhumane and they appear in pain or gasping for air, but in reality they're geeked out of their fucking kinds and have no clue wtf is going on. It's called overdosing.
Now back to vegans.
Chickens, fish, sheep are examples of very very stupid animals. Who cares what happens to them as long as it doesn't get me sick.
Cows? Pigs? OK maybe.
Being a vegan is your choice and no one is gonna stop you. But that won't prevent me from saying my opinion that it's stupid. Enjoy your supplements. I'll have a steak please. Carry on.
This may be plausible to you, but everyone has a different reason. For some, it's ethics. But your argument fails to recognize health and environmental impacts - which is what this thread is all about.
Processed meat, for example, is recognized as a group 1 carcinogen by the World Health Organization

Not to mention livestock (and their emissions) account for 51% of worldwide greenhouse gas emissions.

This is why I compare it to never being able to ski again - it would be a shame to suffer a disease that would be preventable with a better diet, or lose our winters as a result of lifestyle choices by past generations.
