My favorite era; These guys were the bee's knees. They really pushed the boundaries of skiing. Everything they did was more unique to skiing and not a mimic of snowboarding(although they would also shred on snurf board).
I'm about to go to all of the nearby Goodwills to get some more of these steezy looking skis.

I never noticed how progressive his mount point was in that photo. That's Schmidt, right?

Not a progressive mount, just huge boards. The skis three were K2 DH Race skis. 220’s. Lots of tail just because they were so long.

You can ski powder on any ski, just have to know how to. I've seen Jerries with badass pow skis do shitty in pow. Hell they would ski pow on animal carcass skis way back when, and then on wooden sticks a century ago.

I learned to ski and love pow on old, skinny skis. I'm not going back, but we loved pow back then, even on those skis. It takes some skill, but you learn how to bounce.

That was a great era. The modern guys owe a thank you to Schmidt/Plake/Hattrup and all those guys.
