IsitWinterYet17First off, good luck. I like the graphics on the regulators in the giveaway. (yeah yeah NS I know graphics don't matter for performance, but I had to say it)
Will you be at any demo days for people to test the skis out? It would be nice to see some unbiased detailed reviews written about the performance of the skis in different conditions.
Also what are the profiles of the different skis (e.g. Rocker/camber/rocker). I could only find the dimensions on your website. Any side pictures you can provide so we can see what the rocker profile looks like (in the skis that have it)?
Last question, why is the gull wing so much cheaper than the rest of your skis on the site?
IsitWinterYet17- Thank you, we love what were doing and think were making a good product so hopefully the ski gods are good to us.
Great questions - I'm traveling right now, so don't have all the answers at my fingertips but I'll follow up shortly, with answers regarding the profiles.
Yes, we are in the process to setting up a few demo days, some mountains prefer that their early season demo days are for brands that they carry in their stores and the late season spring demo days are for everyone. So we're hoping to have a few pop-up demo days. we'll be sure to publish a list.
As for reviews (and profile pics), were in the process of updating some of that on the website. we actually, just made a decision, to post any reviews that we get, not just the good ones. The idea is to keep us honest, continue to develop a better product, and hopefully show you guys that we're listening to what the skiers want. Additionally, i'm meeting up with Exotic Skis this weekend for them to do a full published review of the product line.
The Gull Wing is cheaper because that was a Co-lab effort with our friends at TILL I DIE. You guys may have heard of them, they did the Humpday giveaway a few weeks ago, they were giving away a custom shot ski (we built that ski for them). Anyway, that was the price that they wanted to sell the ski for on their website, so we followed suit. Its guts are also slightly different, but just as good a ski as the others. If you get the chance check out TILL I DIE, they got a great thing going on - Tell them Facet sent you.
Without causing a NS argument, i'd argue that the graphic does have a little effect on the performance... skiers happy with the graphic, are happy skiers ->better mindset ->better skiing->better use of the ski. (just my opinion though)
