Ya know, those guys that are still stuck in a certain era, they are the ones who down everybody else's style of skiing. Get this, their style of skiing is not only the "steeziest" but it is also THE right way to ski. If you don't wear a Tall T and baggy pants you are automatically a bad skier according to these guys.

They don't contribute much to the industry as a whole, at least not anymore. In their hay day they had skiing sponsorships, nowadays they either moved on with their lives but still get on NSers to diss on "New Waves" or they haven't moved on with their lives and they are out on the hill looking like a grandpa wearing Tall Baggy Tshirts that cover their baggy pants. They say they hate stuck up racers but really they are just stuck up park, and all mountain skiers so if I were racing i'd hat them to. Did I also mention they smell? Yeah they stink. They hate the New Wave because New Wave skiers are younger, all eyes are on them now, and their style is complicated for these Krusty Krabs too mimic.

Face it, these old dudes health is deteriorating but they still want to be cork. They tried to butter but got a cramp in the process. Some of them sucked it up and moved onto snowboarding(You already know who it is!). Props to them, they would be better off snowboarding.

All in all who am I to tell these crusty old dudes how to life their lives? If they want to be bitter let them, it ain't my problem.

Park_RangerYeah, I'm aware that Magnus Graner is an unoriginal hack that sold out on a way of skiing that at one point he thought was really cool. Why do real pro skiers (Henrik Harlaut, Phil Casabon, LJ Strenio, Tom Wallisch, Tanner Hall, etc.) not do that? Because they are true to themselves and their skiing and don't really care what the latest trend is... they are just doing their thing.

Of course Tall T Productions sells new wave shit. Thank you for helping me make my point. It is a massive trend that everyone in the industry is trying to get a piece of and make a dollar or two off of. Nothing original or grass roots about it.

I just really dont see the issue, the bunch, vishnu, hoodcrew, their skiing is fun as fuck to watch, weve been seeing dudes do 9s, 10s, 12, for ages who cares that some dudes want to butter benches and hit the street with their homies and flow around the park, its the same shit that everyone else is tryna do just the style is different, just doesnt seem like a big deal, its not like skiing branching out is going to take away henrik or will away from you guys

FYI, us "crusty old dried up NSers" have contributed more to the ski industry than you can imagine. We were the ones poaching the "snowboard park" before skiers were even allowed. You sound like some little butthurt internet warrior hiding behind a computer calling people out.

As far as I know, its a new trend where kids wear overalls over sweaters, the hood of the sweater over the helmet and you ski around on the softest skis ever invented and apparently fucking up on something and then pretending it was done on purpose is not only encouraged but praised as "revolutionary".... along with backseat/nose heavy landings where you drag both hands as to not tip over. "nah man I didn't almost eat shit because I suck at skiing, I purposely landed like that because I'm so different and I'm progressing the sport!"

If they do land upright, they unnecessarily swing their arms to one side as if they're in the Thriller music video.

Its basically an excuse to ski like shit.

Maybe people would stop making fun of "new wave" if you idiots stopped dressing exactly alike, learned how to stomp a landing and stopped pretending that your sloppy ass skiing and coming off the rails early is intentional. Most of the shots in those edits are absolute trash that would never make the final cut in a respectable edit.

"New wave" is not style. Its a trend that mindless gapers like you leach onto because you're insecure. A perfect example of this are some of the Hood Crew kids who dressed gangster with tall-Ts and now they wear track pants and overalls over a sweater.

Simply put, its a shitty excuse for style and you're just another trend whore who cares more about looking like someone else than actually skiing. Go play dress up in your tree fort and get the fuck outta the park with that crap.

I mean, Im only 22, so I'd say its safe for me to still be on NS, my crust ain't that thick yet. Growing up in Midwest, you should know that the tall tees and XXL pants defined what skiing was in our area. Not that we are hung up on the past but we want to preserve the style that we grew up with. The baggy street style clothes comes from what skiing is to us and the actual experience we have. The hills in the Midwest are just glorified sled hills. We had shitty park features and hand rails in the plaza downtown, and our style reflects that. This new wave style reflects that of a hobo, no true meaning behind the "wave". No experience that had been had. Dingy sweaters and used track pants from the nearest thrift store is just a way for these new companies to make a quick buck off of shitty clothing to go along with their shitty "surf sticks". And they find half-assed skiers who will take a free pair of skis and a ham sandwich to be sponsored for their intentional sloppy landings and their hula dance arm waves. Props to them for brain washing half the industry though.

There was some version of this going on in 03-04 when Blake Nyman was skiing in sweaters and tight pants.. I even heard people say he was trying to be 'emo' .. A.Boronowski put that shit out with Bright Eyes.. Think Thank was a thing.. I mean, it all just recycles. In the same years Magoon and Bradshaw did their thing.. in hindsight it's all just so irrelevant. Skiing continues to be a good time, and how damn good are skis now compared to then!?!?

Okay but who gives a shit? Who’s to say what’s real skiing or not; if you don’t like it then don’t worry about it. You can’t talk shit about someone’s style like it’s “not real skiing” then turn around and complain about the lack of creativity in comps. You wanted creativity, and you got it. Some of it’s pretty lit, some of it I could do with out but that doesn’t mean that a style I don’t like is bad skiing.

I’m onboard wherever skiing goes as long as we’re all skiing uniquely. Stop making such a big deal out of it
