Faction's This Is Home. Thoughts?

I was lucky enough to go to the premiere of Faction's new movie This is Home which essentially gives the stories of the Faction's athletes. My honest thoughts: It was the best ski movie (at least freeski movie) I've ever seen. The scenes in the pow was just crazy, the urban was insane and Duncan Adams' smile never hurts. Personally all you need for a ski movie, pow, park, urban and to finish it off a classic-Faction verbier finish with the crew.
What put me down though is that they didn't have a Candide segment for the movie. The latter appears in one scene (pretty great scene, don't get me wrong, probably my favorite in the movie, because it's like passing the mantle down to Henry), but he doesn't have his own segment where he talks about him. As the flagship athlete, I don't really understand why. And, Candide being favorite skier, a true legend, it really made me kind of disappointed. Loved the movie, don't get me wrong, but at the end I asked myself "and Candide?".

To all who have seen the movie, what are your thoughts? Did you like it, hate it? Were you also dissapointed Candide wasn't a important part of the movie?

I do wish Candide was in it more, but the segment that he was in was, was no doubt a tear jerker, quite possibly my favorite segment ever. The movie overall was no doubt my favorite ski movie I have ever seen, and it hypes me up for more of their content. I guess it could kind be their way of phasing him out since he's getting old idk. But overall, absolutely unreal movie.

Definitely agree about the movie. It was insane. I'm not to sure about that Candide is really the face of Faction. I doubt they'd do that, you know? But whatever, glad I gotta experience that... Loved the atmosphere in the theater room, crazy how skiers are such a great community.

He's the face, no he's the GOAT, but eventually they'll need to move on which sucks but its true. I think that's why the spotlight wasn't really on him.

I thought it was awesome, better than rouge elements for sure. I enjoyed Guest List a lot also this year.

Just finished watching, and it is easily my favorite movie to come out this year. It's too soon to say for sure (need to rewatch) but it might be my all time favorite movie to come out. The skiing is insane, editing, music all work perfectly, and to successfully link the concept of 'home' in a way that was not corny or overdone really adds another level of resonance. I had high expectations and it completely exceeded them.

Its kind of a weird to see Factions old main guys (Candide, Delorme, etc) starting move to the back and seeing guys like Antti and Johnny becoming more of the face of the company. The movie kind of showed that a new era (at least for faction) is beginning and its interesting, after having been around to see both eras of riders, to see the progression that is happening. Overall great movie though everybody on their team rips hard.

I thought it was great, but I like Numinous much better. I also liked Drop Everything better, and Rogue Elements just about as much. I'm not a fan of urban, so I fast-forwarded past lots of stuff, but the Montana, Utah and Europe segments were sick. Jonny Collinson particularly impressed me, he is definitely one of the best skiers out there when you consider this film and what he did in Rogue Elements.

I liked the Candide segment, but I was really disappointed we didn't get to see more of him. I want to see another Candide Kamera or Few Words.

I thought Numinous was the best movie I have seen in the last five years.
