As I sit down and eat one thing that came to my mind is What if.. the foods you eat before you go skiing have a direct effect on your performance? Now Obviously i’m not a nutrition expert(I barely remembered how to spell nutrition). However from my own observations I know that when I eat heavy before I go out, I usually get more fatigue and more cramps.. vs when I eat lightly or just enough, I tend to get less fatigue, no cramping, and an overall better feeling while on the mountain.
On any given ski day I will only eat breakfast which is never too big, probably a couple eggs, fruit, + water and energy drink. I’ll take a break now and then just to drink water. Then at the end of the day I go all out and eat whatever I want to.. usually a slice of pizza at the Rat.
