TRVP_ANGELBuy low, sell high is the golden rule. First one to name the company is invited to my million dollar bachelor party when i hit it big.
-eREKTion-I helped a grower friend of mine do some pre-legalization tax planning here in CA. Shits about to become borderline untenable for smaller operations: independent growers, shops, co-ops, etc. We're about three years away from billion dollar weed companies trading on the stock market. If you're investing in a small op I'd get the fuck out now, indy dudes aren't going to win.
DirtYStylECanada just passed a bill for legalization. Inb4 WEED stock hits robinhood and takes off
IsitWinterYet17You can't trade Canadian or OTC stocks on Robinhood. Only US companies that allow it are fidelity, Penn trade, and Interactive brokers. Other ones such as TD ameritrade and Etrade only let you trade on their OTC equivalent.
Maybe I read this wrong and you're saying you did trade these stocks already, then kudos to you sir.

BenWhitI had a conversation about this with someone at a bar like three years ago. We are on the verge of weed being traded as commodity; futures, options, puts, etc. It is incredibly fascinating the economic value that can be derived from something was/is illegal for consumption at the federal level. As with anything, corporations with significant resources will be able to take advantage of economies of scale and supplant the small operations that are currently benefiting from first-mover advantage.
IsitWinterYet17It will eventually be just like big tobacco or beverage companies. My question is will some startup become the main marijuana producer in the US when legalized, or will someone like Phillip Morris take over since they have the resources.
DirtYStylEThe problem I have with one company being a main producer is that there are so many variables that go into the growing and curing. Tobacco dosen't have much of a variance when it comes to the final dried and product. While marijuana can have a huge variance in the final product even when we are talking about one single strain. This variance will be a disrupting factor that should potentially allow for many smaller companies to flourish. I would probably compare this industry with something like the wine industry.
.lenconI was thinking this as well. So many variables within a strain, so many strains, etc etc. I could be down for having the weed industry similar to the wine industry. I just wouldn't want it to be something super exclusive. But having a weed cellar instead of a wine cellar when I am older sounds tight.
rocketfuelWhat would your children think of you if you had a “weed cellar”, like don’t you think they would look at you differently if they knew you openly did pot? Also, do you think others would feel offended if they went in ur home and saw your “weed cellar” ?
