Holy hell this video is horrible editing. Anyway the only reason I posted this is because the comments on YouTube are quite fueled and believe it was the skiers fault. I wanna hear your thoughts. I disagree.

My view: sure the skier was slow and stopped in the middle of the trail, but the snowboarder was completely out of control and could have just turned rather than skidding 10ft+ right into the guy. People downhill always have the right of way. It's skiing 101.

like wtf. this vid makes me mad. first off the editing. replaying the clip 10 times just to show you what happened. we can't even hear what they are saying because of the rock music. second off. what the actual F was the meaning of filming that? just riding down the slope and doing some skids? i have snowboarded a couple times (not once the past 4 years) and i even think i could do better stuff. last part. a shame to ski in the prepped slope when the conditions looked kinda killer. a shame.

Damn that sucks... But I agree with you. Nobody should be stopping in the middle of the run like that, but regardless, whoever is downhill has right of way, especially when the run is wide open like the video shows. I would understand their point of view if the skier was stopped below a park feature or just beyond a blind corner.

Yeah no wonder the skier was pissed. He stopped in the middle of the trail (not the best idea, admittedly), but only for a second, before he got smoked by an out of control boarder. Anyone with any knowledge of basic ski/snowboard etiquette knows that people downhill have the right of way.

Look at the comments of YouTube videos for collisions like this. It scares me how overwhelmingly weighted the comments are saying the uphill person was not at fault. How do people not know this.... I'd lose my shit if I got wrecked by a non-beginner adult flying out of control on skis or board.
