ronders_Fuck you, Ajit Pai you shitlord.
.lenconSo I'm not 100% filled in on what's going on, but from my understanding we basically have to pay for internet right? On top of our wifi, data plans, phones, computers, etc..
RyhanThe neckbeards are freaking the fuck out. Poor things.
DIRTYBUBBLEDobber I thought we banned you after you used multiple NS accounts to win MOTM like 2 years ago.
JAHpowHaven't we only had net neutrality for like two years? What was wrong with the time before that?
Right now I'm not for or against net neutrality because idk enough about it.

Ryan5_MNMy thoughts exactly.
Last I saw, there were 22 million names on a petition against ending neutrality. You would think that might have congress realize no one wants to end it but fuck if the people have any voice I guess.
s-handWhere is this petition? I want to sign.
theabortionatorI hope if they do it, other legit companies spring up and shut the bullshjt companies down. The cable companies need to die.
TOAST.Unless you live in a densely populated area you often dont have many chances for isps. Hell my family had dialup until 2011 because we hated the only company offering fast internet, eventually my dad caved because he had to work from home some times.

RyhanMore like Kretzschmar had personal beef with me at our home hill for no reason whatsoever and was therefore extra butthurt that some kid he recognized fucked up the meaningless contest. But yes that is what happened, sir.
.Fryit's funny because it's obvious you're the one upvoting your crappy posts

.FryFuck everyone and everything. The whole world is going down the drain.
theBearJewIs there anyone at all that actually supports dismantling net neutrality? Just seeing if there is any individual out there that have that opinion.
cool_nameyup, it is just another stupid government regulation that supports big business.
It forces consumers to pay for all or nothing in regards to the internet. Why should someone who never streams videos and just uses the internet for email be forced to help subsidize someone who watches netflix all day using up immensely more bandwidth?
The argument that internet companies would benefit from getting rid of net neutrality is also very questionable, seeing as they are proponents of the regulation.

IsitWinterYet17I sincerely doubt internet prices will drop, but maybe they will for lower consumers. Who only uses internet for email? Is this 1995? Just get the lowest package.
Also what are you smoking? ISPs directly sit to benefit from net neutrality repeal and are proponents to repealing it. Companies against net neutrality include Verizon, AT&T, Comcast, Spectrum to name a few. And to give an example, Time Warner Cable (now Spectrum) has already said in leaked memos that they planned on charging sites such as Netflix extra fees for allowing users to access, otherwise they will throttle speeds. Do you honestly think that these companies won't charge websites extra money for bandwidth access if they were given the opportunity? It's a business and they will make money where they can.
"AT&T announced Tuesday it will be joining the Net Neutrality Day of Action"
" Will Johnson, senior vice president of federal regulatory & legal affairs at Verizon wrote a blog post echoing AT&T’s sentiment on the need for net neutrality legislation"
" [comcast is also] encouraging Congress to create net neutrality legislation."

If you read the article, while it seems like they are fine with the repeal of the regulations, but they all are supporting an actual law to take the regulations place. This is absolutely being for net neutrality.

IsitWinterYet17You seem to be misguided. All that USA today article says is how the ISPs want to repeal net neutrality, but enact a law in place over regulations. It doesn't specify what will be in that law. It doesn't say if they will fight to keep neutrality in the law or make laws to prevent neutrality. It will likely be some complex law that has a bunch of "if thens" allowing partial neutrality to an extent in certain markets, along with whatever else the legislators want to tack on to the bill like Healthcare, immigration, taxes, etc as they always do. ISPs literally have no benefit to not want the ability to throttle speeds, other than customer satisfaction. All it says is they want a law, not their end intentions. In a corporation oriented, republican run legislature, I would not want to risk permanent net neutrality laws. We are already fucked for taxes 10 years from now. I can't wait to see what a net neutrality law would entail.
Ask yourself this. Why did they want the previous neutrality regulations repealed in place of a law if they weren't planning on lobbying for changes? Because they want to change it. If it ain't broke, why fix it?
Do you work for one of these companies?
